The abundant boat that won a world championship
Not all hulls are born to win. Then all it takes is magic to turn a boat abandoned in a field into a world champion. This is the story of the Jolly Drive told by Maurizio Bulleri, journalist and TV

The motor catamaran lines continue to grow. Fountaine Pajot, a yard specializing in multihulls, is now focusing on an 11-metre model, the Fountaine Pajot MY4.S. Despite being smaller than the rest of the fleet, this model will have up to four double cabins on board. The solution with a full master cabin on one hull has two doubles on the other hull, for a total of three cabins and six beds.
In her 11 metres, the new Fountaine Pajot MY4 focues on extra large spaces. It goes without saying that a monohull of the same length will never be able to compete with the space offered by this type of boat. Of course, you have to look at your own interests, what you want from a boat. That way it will be easier to make a practical comparison. The architect for Fountaine Pajot’s new motor catamaran is Daniel Andrieu, while Pierangelo Andreani designed the interior.
The external line makes the new Fountaine Pajot MY4.S immediately recognizable even on this size. In fact, it continues the yard’s style, even without the flybridge. The convivial space between saloon and exterior is designed for long cruises, with a large number of guests on board. Two elements unite the interior and exterior. The first is the sliding door between the cockpit and dinette, the second is the optional electric sunroof. As for the interiors, the yard has focused on fine finishes to make the interior more attractive.
The all-windowed saloon is designed with these features in mind:

Going below deck there are two possible layouts. The first, Maestro, features a master cabin with private head on one hull and two double cabins with shared bathroom on the other. The second version has two double cabins on each hull with two heads.
The boat is designed to be powered in two ways, both by shaft drive. Either with two 150 hp Yanmar engines or with two 250 hp engines. With two tanks of around 600 litres each, this 11-metre motor catamaran will have a range of over 1000 nautical miles. Basically, it’s a small cruiser that has what it takes for a long cruise, even with two families on board. Top speed is estimated at around 22 knots.
New names are also coming for two existing models. In the spirit and logic of this new model, Fountaine Pajot has decided to change the names of the models, giving a more intuitive reference for the owner when comparing them with a monohull. The MY40 becomes the MY5 and the MY44 becomes the MY6.
