Speed on water is distributed fairly evenly across all dimensions. There are small, nimble, snappy speedboats, but there are much larger craft that do not disdain extreme performance from over 50 knots. We have selected six new ones(launched in 2023) for all tastes and budgets from the small sporty open to the hyper muscle yacht, the ultra-fast 24-meter 70-knot boat. Let’s look at them from the smallest to the largest.

These six boats are very fast!

Six speedboats faster than 50 knots. Joker Clubman 32 – 9.50 METERS

The inflatable cabin cruiser that was missing. An evolution of the popular CB 30, but rethought in every way starting with a new hull and optimized layout. A rib that, with the depth of its deck plan, certainly winks at the family that wants to get out for the weekend, but at the same time wants to speed through the water. Below deck there is room for two beds and a bathroom (willingly separate). Driven exclusively by outboard motors, it can mount up to 850 maximum horsepower. Top speed? 61 knots.

Speedboats. Sterk 31 – 9.7 METERS

What to say. This boat is a missile. And it steers like few thanks to its hull, steppe. There is no doubt that among the “semi-pure” opens this new Sterk is one of the most interesting on the market. With two 300hp Yamahas (total 600 hp) we touched 55.5 knots with the engines at 5,500 rpm. There was still room and pure conditions were not optimal to go “further.” Yet the ease of maneuvering, or rather, the confidence that the rudder and hull conveyed by turning at speed on the water made us appreciate this hull so much. We were talking about “semi-pure” open. This is because it has a double berth under the aft sundeck that can be folded up although calling it a proper cabin is perhaps too much. Large for real, however, is the bathroom forward of the console. Its top speed? 60 knots!

De Antonio Yachts D32 Open – 10 METERS

De Antonio Yachts when it comes to walkarounds is one of the most in vogue names today. Its small 32-footer is derived almost entirely from the 36-footer, whose layout and layout it mimics, but in a far more compact size. It is a weekender with 4 beds, but it is in practice a watercraft, and this rightfully projects it among the most interesting entry-levels for 2023, obviously on a standard that is already quite high in terms of offerings. Its top speed is 50 knots and it is propelled exclusively by outboard motors hidden under the aft sundeck.

Speedboats. Azimut Verve 48 – 15 METERS

In America, Azimut Yachts realized that the powerful Italian-style outboard could be successful. Thus the Verve family was born and the new 48 has a lot of expectation on it since the Verve 47 has reached 110 units sold in the United States. The approach, however, is the same. A racy coupe on the outside with plenty of space above and below, Michael Peters V-shaped hull (with step) and 3 outboard 600-horsepower V12s from Mercury. The maximum speed it touches is around 50 knots.

Eagle 47 Molokai – 15 METERS

Another typically American product, but one that is capable of turning eyes around the world. It is called Eagle 47 Molokai and is named after a small island in Hawaii. Its peculiarity? It is a fishing catamaran, American center-console style, which is really crazy for our way of thinking about the boat. A fishing machine, as they would say overseas, with catch tanks of all shapes and sizes, extra-large capacity, and power that makes it go at super-sonic speeds. Thrust is provided by 2 or 4 outboards with a total of between 1,200 and 1,600 horsepower with a double step on the hulls. It also has a cabin and sleeping space below deck. The maximum speed is 72 knots!

Speedboats. Bolide 80 – 24 m

Extreme boat, in every sense. Speed, technology, lightness, luxury. Everything a performance lover could want is found here. Bolide, a name, a guarantee, runs smoothly up to the modest figure of 70 knots (seven zeros, you got that right) propelled by 3 MAN V12s of 2,000 horsepower each, obviously coupled to surface propellers. Do you care about cruising speed? Well, probably so: 55 knots. This alone is already higher than the top speed of the hulls we have in this review, not exactly slow boats. Built in Italy entirely of carbon fiber, it is the first in a series of boats known as “Hyper Muscle Yachts” developed by Victory Marine.
