Among the five boats debuting at the
Miami Boat Show 2024
we mentioned models heterogeneous in size and shape. Among this the most “flashy” one regardless of actual length was probably the new Galeon 435 GT, 12 meters. Let’s see why.
Galeon 435 GT: a great fast and modern coupe
We immediately notice the three
600-horsepower outboards
. With behemoths like that at the stern, you can tell right away where this hull wants to go. Thus, however, we actually lose much of the platform, now the boat’s true “center of gravity.” What to do? Simple, if there are outboards at the stern, the beach area moves a little further toward the bow.
The solution thought of is this: folding murals on the sides and a central settee that translates to the longitudinal axis of the boat. In fact, when you move it all the way back, lowering even the middle backrest, we have a sundeck that acts as an island and a large walking surface, given by the surface area of the bulwarks and cockpit.
The walls that let you see out
The new Galeon also introduces another novelty. On the openable terraces, this is perhaps the first time we have seen windows. Aesthetically a “wow” they rip it off, but on practical use it is good to make sure that the construction site has applied an anti-skid film or similar solutions to remedy the problem. Walking on a wet glass surface barefoot, in fact, can be risky.
The boat uses the entire available beam. Therefore, there are no side walkways. The interior salon can be separated from the outside with a window in the stern leaving a galley and a kitchen table protected under the hard-top. In the bow, however, there is a sort of sundeck, which is accessed through an opening on the port side.
What about below deck?
We saw a deck that appears to be spacious and versatile, in short, well thought out. What about below deck? It goes up to five beds. A rather voluminous double cabin and a triple cabin aft with a double bed and a single berth to starboard. We haven’t had a chance to see it live yet, but from the pictures it doesn’t look like particularly sacrificed spaces, quite the contrary.
