Garmin-quatix-6-solar

Garmin with the new Quatix 6X Solar crosses a new frontier in the world of hi-tech watches. We told you about Garmin’s brand new Quatix 6 line here. Instead, today we look at the latest in the world of watches designed specifically for boating.

Quatix 6X Solar: the watch that also runs on solar power!

The Quatix 6X Solar features a transflective color display with integrated Power GlassTM solar that can store and accumulate solar energy to extend battery life wherever you are.

Designed for the sea: water and saltwater resistant, Quatix 6X Solar features a 1.4-inch display that is understandable in all conditions, designed with a Power GlassTM transparent solar charging lens that uses the sun’s energy to extend battery life.

Once on the wrist, one can quickly check the charging level directly on the wrist via a dedicated widget to know how much energy the Power Glass has accumulated. The battery performance of the quatix 6X Solar is up to 21 days in smartwatch mode and can go up to 24 days via solar charging. At any given time you can know how much energy you are using and how to save it.

The clock integrated with the chartplotter

Ideal for boaters, the Quatix 6X Solar connects directly wirelessly to compatible multifunction chartplotters to keep tabs on the boat directly from the watch. Through the GNT 10 transceiver, it connects to all NMEA 2000 networks and allows for speed, depth, temperature, autopilot management, saving waypoints to the chartplotter right from your wrist, the Fusion entertainment system, and all functions specific to sailing, tidal information, MOB (man overboard) function, and much more.

What the Quatix 6X supports

Quatix 6x Solar supports BlueChart g3 cartography, which integrates Garmin content with the best of Navionics data. When paired with one of Garmin’s inReach series satellite communicators, it will give the assurance that you can always be tracked, no matter where in the world (even in the middle of the ocean) you decide to go with your boat.

Indeed, it will be possible to stay in touch with the earth (email or phone) by providing indications of one’s movements in real time and, in case of emergency, activate the distress call through the Iridium global network and the 24-hour GEOS international station.

Not only by boat

The new Garmin sportwatch can also be used in the city, in the daily routine of home and office. In addition to receiving emails, text messages and alerts directly on the watch with the Smart Notification feature, it allows you to make contactless payments through Garmin PayTM, listen to music through Bluetooth headphones and practice activities.

The new quatix 6X Solar is available with dual QuickFitTM straps in titanium and cirrus blue silicone at a price of €1149 including VAT.
