Registration is officially open for the 59th Genoa Boat Show, scheduled from 19 to 24 September 2019. After the positive trend of the last 4 years, the goal for the 2019 edition is to grow even more. There is no shortage of requests for new exhibitors and the influx of 174,610 visitors in 2018 (almost 20% more than in 2017) is the best “publicity” for the health of the Boat Show in Genoa and the boating industry in general.
The current market
The Italian nautical market is growing. This is also what emerges from the data collected by the Ucina Study Office, Confindustria Nautica, which is one of the organisers of the Boat Show.
“The 59th edition of the Boat Show opens under the best auspices” comments Carla Demaria, President of UCINA Confindustria Nautica and CEO of Bluegame Yachts. Following a survey carried out on a significant sample of companies, the data are positive for the sector with an estimated growth rate, through the sample for the year 2018, which suggested a value of +9.5% for the global turnover of the Italian boating industry.
“In recent months – continued Demaria – we have collected the statements of the exhibitors of the past edition with a redemption of 100% in terms of confirmation of participation to which are added requests for new participation, with a majority of foreigners. In general, expectations are for a Boat Show that is growing compared to last year’s figures, where 951 exhibitors (up 7.6%) met 174,610 visitors (+17.8 compared to 2017).”
What will the Genoa Boat Show look like?
The Boat Show will once again be divided into four distinct areas.
- Yachts and superyachts
- Sailing boats
- Outboard engines and Ribs
- Accessories and components
The hall maintains about 115 thousand square meters of exhibition space in water and 110 thousand square meters on land. Following the new requests will be studied solutions such as the extension of the piers and the expansion of areas already used during the last edition, up to the optimization of outdoor areas.
