Let’s head into the Spanish boat show season: let’s talk about the Murcia boat show (April 17 to 20) and the Palma de Mallorca international boat show (April 30 to May 4). What is there to see? Many, many boats. Today we talk about some particular models, the Girbau gozzo boats, particularly popular in Spain, but capable of carving out a slice of the market in Italy as well. We had seen one example at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, where we appreciated its build quality and finish.
Girbau goiters
What’s interesting about them? These goiters combine traditional craftsmanship of construction with a classic, yet modern hull in terms of equipment. What boats will be on display?
Murcia Boat Fair:
- Blue G30, equipped with two 250-hp Yanmar 4LV engines
- White G28, equipped with a 250-hp Yanmar 4LV engine, is the shipyard’s entry level boat.
Palma Boat Show:

The hybrid motorization
Classic boat, modern technology. Girbau’s hulls are clearly equipped with traditional motorization, but the yard’s goal is to get to the point where it can reduce direct fuel emissions as much as possible. That is why Girbau Boats is exploring hybrid motorization as a viable alternative to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of its hull. After all, what boats better than the gozzo can interpret slower, more environmentally friendly boating?
