The boat parking fee, in Greece, is a reality. As of April 2, it will have to be paid by both domestic and foreign-flagged boats. Here are the costs:
To our knowledge to date, the situation is as follows:
– 7 to 8 meters: 16 euros per month and a192 euros annually.
– 8 to 10 meters: 25 euros per month and 300 euros annually.
– 10 to 12 meters: 33 euros per month and 396 euros annually.
Over 12 meters: 8 euros per meter per month.
Then there are discounts and exemptions. Here they are:
If you keep the boat ashore, and notify the relevant port authority, you do not pay the fee for as long as the boat is actually ashore. If you pay for the year of stationing in advance, a 10% discount will be applied. If boats enter Greece for the first time, and decide to stay the full year, they will pay a discounted amount of 25 percent.
It should be remembered that the vast majority of Greek marinas are public and there is no charge, until now, for mooring. A big difference from other European countries (including Italy) where even in public ports you have to put your hand in your wallet. For more information and payment there is the dedicated website www.aade.gr, available to date only in Greek
