Going fishing without a boat, but with a jet ski? It may sound crazy but it’s all true: we reveal the secrets Fish-Pro, produced by Sea Doo which is the first watercraft to go fishing.
The 5-point fishing watercraft:
- On the bow is Garmin’s Echomap Plus navigation and fish finder system with transducer integrated into the hull
- The seat is designed to facilitate movement from the driver’s seat to the passenger’s seat to engage in, precisely, fishing. Being side-facing provides more stability on the hips, especially when combined with the sloping footboards, i.e., footrests to lean on to increase stability when fishing in rough water.
- As on any self-respecting fishing boat there is a thermal container, in this case Linq, with 51 liters of capacity. It is designed specifically for fishing and features a recessed work surface, four rod holders, line slots, tackle and bait compartment, plus a quick-attach system.
- At the stern, there is an extended platform, providing more space for re-boarding and fishing. This solution then increases stability while stationary and while transporting a load of fish.
The fishing jet ski
Summarizing the fishing watercraft, it calls the Fish Pro and is manufactured by Sea-Doo: powered by a 155-horsepower engine, it is equipped with rod holders, a 51-liter refrigerated fish nursery, and thanks to the rear brackets, at the stern it can accommodate a small refrigerator, an extra tank, or a stocked fishing box.
Three people can fit on the saddle, but the bike, which reaches a top speed of 45 knots, is designed for solo use since the fisherman likes to practice the activity alone. The absence of draft allows the Fish Pro (equipped with electronic speed control and reverse gear) to reach any “spot” good for fishing and, of course, beaching. The 70-liter fuel tank provides great range, and the bike is equipped with top-of-the-line fishing gear, with Garmin’s Echomap multifunction fishfinder.
At 3.73 meters long and 1.25 meters wide, it weighs 389 kilograms and costs about 16,000 euros. www.maremoto.net,
