The iconic Sarnico shipyard, Riva, now a Ferretti Group brand, announces a new model.
It is the largest in its more than 180-year history (1842) and an unprecedented flagship: here is the Riva 70Metri.
The iconic Italian shipyard, in fact, has just announced the birth of its new “giant,” a full 53 feet longer than the current flagship, the Riva 54M.
But it’s not just size that will distinguish the newcomer from the rest of the fleet or segment, because the Riva 70Metri will also be big in terms of innovation and technology, aiming at highest sustainability regimes and timeless design and aesthetics.
Riva 70Metri
The superyacht market is still growing and does not seem to know any brakes.
The numbers are mind-boggling so much so that, a brand like Riva, has decided to make a leap of almost 20 meters.
From the current flagship, which measures 54 meters, it will rise to a 70-meter behemoth.
A truly incredible gap that explains how the race “upward,” i.e., toward giant size is far from over.
This 70Meter will be built in Ancona, at the Riva Superyachts Yard (of the Ferretti Group) for a devoted owner.
What the world’s largest Riva looks like
The starting point is the 54M, of which the new 70 meters represents an evolution.
Made of steel (hull) and aluminum (superstructure), beyond the shipyard’s characteristic stylistic features, the new Riva 70M is distinguished by the use of the latest cutting-edge technological solutions.
For engines, there is a state-of-the-art hybrid system, with dedicated heat recovery technologies and PTO-PTI systems, i.e., transmission systems where the main engine generates constant electric power intended to power a propulsion system capable, instead, of operating at variable speeds.
In terms of comfort, however, the new Riva 70M will also look carefully at the on-board acoustic component, implementing solutions dedicated to lowering noise and vibration levels, as well as improving stabilizer systems.
The result of a collaboration between the owner, Officina Italiana Design, the Strategic Product Committee and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, the new flagship will be built at Ferretti Group’s Superyacht Yard in Ancona, a site of more than 80,000 square meters allocated to the construction of the group’s 50- to 90-meter yachts, including, therefore, Riva.
