Who said a chartplotter has to be bound by the classic rectangular shapes we are used to seeing it with? LXNAV, a Slovenian brand with worldwide experience in aviation instrumentation, has unveiled an innovative round display, the E360: a touchscreen chartplotter with a 4-inch screen that combines advanced technology and off-the-chart design.
Designed to offer maximum functionality in small spaces, theE360 features NMEA2000 connectivity, and allows all engine data, battery and tank levels, depth, OpenSeaMap or Navionics cartographies (optionally, via SD card,) and even audio system control via Fusion, to be centralized in a single instrument.
The interface is as easy to use as a smartphone, providing immediate and intuitive access to menus and settings, making the user experience smoother and safer. The display’s compactness and versatility make it particularly suitable for boats with a small dashboard, electric boats, and refitting operations where space optimization is critical.
In addition to the touchscreen, a thumbwheel, similar to those found on the entertainment systems found on cars, is also available as an option to control the interface, allowing the chartplotter to be operated even with wet hands and in complicated conditions. You can see it in the image below.
