Honda Marine introduces its new 40-horsepower outboard, the Honda BF40E, at the Genoa Boat Show 2022. Honda Marine has become one of the top players in the Italian market and paves the way for the arrival of a new top-of-the-line model. In the meantime, however, the road passes through a new model that consolidates the work already done, precisely, the new Honda. What changes? We see it right away.
Honda BF40E
Growth for a motor manufacturer does not only mean presenting more powerful powertrains. Such is the case with Honda Marine, which, building on a leading position it has achieved in the past two years in Italy, presents a revamp of its best-selling license-free outboard by introducing the new BF40E. After the introduction of the new Honda BF 115-135- 150, it is therefore the turn of a smaller, but widely appreciated model in the market.
Honda BF40E outboard: here’s what changes
The new Honda BF40E outboard changes in form and content. Let’s start with the exterior: as with the big ones, this 40-horsepower will also be available on this one with the Sporty White livery, which has garnered great success since its launch, in parallel with the classic Silver. The idea is clear: to convey a more performance aspect even when looking at it from the outside.
What we are interested in, however, besides the color of the grille is what is underneath it. In particular to have been optimized is the electronics of this 40-horsepower Honda outboard, which with the new upgrade has a more efficient torque curve. What does it mean? Lower glide times with more thrust given by the engine and improved overall performance. This also reduces fuel consumption at cruising speed while meeting EPA standards.
On a practical level, there are new features on the throttle as well, since the new Honda BF40E will have Trolling as standard, which allows the idle speed to be adjusted from 750 to 1,000 rpm in 50 rpm increments, single-lever control, and multifunction instrument with GPS antenna.
