Comfort on deck, or rather, practicality often does not go hand in hand with aesthetically compelling solutions. We are talking, for example, about systems for attaching fenders to those for securing awnings. Finding the balance between form and function has been taken care of by I-Carbon of the Marche region, which has created a series of products for quick hookups flush with the deck and beyond. This makes it safer, more comfortable to navigate without sacrificing visual appeal.
I-Carbon: flush-to-deck quick-attach systems
We are talking about the flush-to-deck quick coupler systems produced by the Marche-based I-Carbon, which offers a wide choice of configurations and workloads for multiple uses on powerboats.

I-Carbon: how flush deck quick attach systems work
How do flush deck quick coupler systems work? The salient feature of the system is the use of a single base on which different types of couplers can be inserted depending on the need for use and loading. The side-button release system allows the top of the coupling to be completely free for use in different applications.
The bases are available in four sizes and being completely waterproof, they do not require drainage. The standard product is made entirely of AISI316L stainless steel, and grade5 titanium can also be used upon request.
The standard finish includes a mirror polish treatment. Available on request with a satin finish by microbead blasting treatment. The textile fitting is made of Dyneema rk78.
I-Carbon: standard custom-made retractable bollards!
Another successful product are I-Carbon’s retractable bollards, which although standard, have various customization options with advantages from a price/quality perspective.
The I-Carbon retractable bollards have a base flange that binds attaches to the deck, two titanium pins, which allow them to be lifted, and the use of a top, which is the most aesthetically relevant part, with a sleek and streamlined design to best tie in with the line.
Thanks to a recess in the lower part of the bollard top, which hides the base flange when the head is lowered, it is possible to customize the top, thus developing an original and exclusive design. The other components, however, are standard.
I-Carbon – Concealed Cleats
In this way, having only the caveat of respecting the constraints of pin spacing and recess dimensions, it is possible to have a “custom-made” bollard, with a unique design (as if it were totally customized), but at the greatly reduced price similar to that of a standard mass-produced bollard.
The construction site or design firm can develop their own design, based on the chosen size, and send a 3D file that will then be analyzed and engineered by I-Carbon to make machining programs.
