The Milan-based maritime engineering group Ingemar has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Oversease AST LLC for the exclusive production and distribution in the United Arab Emirates of the most popular Italian floating products in the world. The agreement concerns the most important high-end Ingemar products: floating jetties, fingers and wave breakers of different sizes and displacement.

The Ingemar Group, with headquarters in Milan and production areas in the province of Treviso, has been producing and operating floating jetties and breakwaters in Italy and abroad for 40 years and is now one of the very few companies in the sector with its own production autonomy and Research & Development activities developed internally with the involvement of important university laboratories.

Made in Italy towards the East

In recent years, production technologies and experience gained in the field have enabled the Group to define new solutions and assembly of products that have soon become as many quality benchmarks at global level. Its engineering solutions and “Made in Italy” products have conquered increasingly remote regions, passing from the Mediterranean basin to the most distant coasts of the Middle East: in Iraq, Kwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

For almost 60 years, the AST Oversease LLC Group has included important projects in the maritime, civil and industrial infrastructure sectors of the United Arab Emirates, can boast consolidated experience in the construction of important marinas and is involved in futuristic infrastructure installations for a consolidated network of over 150 operators/primary customers in the UAE countries.

Founded in Europe in 1898, AST opened its own representation in Dubai in 1959 and was progressively acquired by investors from the Emirates (Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda of Dubai and Abdulla Mohammed Al Mazrouei of Abu Dhabi) who now hold 100% of the share capital. AST has now gained a leading position in the Emirates, with infrastructure installations throughout the region (Oil&Gas, petrochemical, energy, desalination, leisure and residential sectors throughout the region), base in Dubai and operating offices in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman.

History of Ingemar

Lorenzo Isalberti, Chairman and Founder of Ingemar, proudly commented on the Group’s new product range in Dubai: – “Thanks to the commercial agreement with AST, a new era is opening up in which production can be relocated and in which we will have the opportunity to ‘monitor’ one of the regions with one of the highest growth rates in the world. We are certain that our products will benefit from AST’s long experience in the world of civil and industrial infrastructures and that the agreement will bring concrete benefits to both our Groups”.

Similarly, Andrew Fanton, CEO of Oversease AST, said: “This strategic alliance combines the recognized R&D and design capabilities of our Italian partners with our expertise in the area and will ensure our customers innovative and highly competitive solutions.
