Winning over the Côte d’Azur’s boating public from the very beginning is no trivial feat. Yet the VanDutch brand, founded in 2008, did not take long to gain international popularity as an exclusive luxury product.

One of the earliest models, the VanDutch 40, elegant and simple on the outside, fascinated both Formula One and Red Bull, who shortly chose it as their guest boat. The showcase offered by the French Riviera, hand in hand with the quality of the boats, led to a major increase in international notoriety, turning these speedboats into true style icons chosen by celebrities around the world.

Today VanDutch is one of the brands in Cantiere del Pardo’s portfolio and the boats are built in Italy. The first model signed by the new ownership is called VanDutch 32 and is the new entry-level model in the range. Let’s get on board to see how it was designed and implemented.

The sporty speedboat with a clean profile, spider-like windshields and plenty of desire to enjoy sunset aperitifs with friends or those you love is back. A daycruiser that was created to be experienced in comfort on deck while still maintaining a stylish appearance outside.

Compared to the previously listed 30-footer, VD30, this model represents an evolution that actually involves the hull in both length and width.

VanDutch 32 – Exterior and deck

The new VD32 is designed to have more volume and thus more roominess and perception of space on board. At the same time, the walkable area has also increased and also the height of the freeboard to have more safety. Let’s get into the nuts and bolts of VD32 configuration. Basic premise: as with every model made by Cantiere del Pardo, the level of customization is maximum. This allows all owners to make a boat as true to their idea as possible, starting with the color of the hull, and the same can be done for fabrics and cushions.

Now let’s board starting from the stern. Immediately we find the large aft platform, which is integrated into the hull and has a retractable ladder for structural strength. It increases the area available to the owner and guests, creating quick and safe access to the sea, as well as a beach area if you want to stand with your feet soaking in the water with a pleasant “poolside” effect.

Immediately behind is the large aft sundeck sofa, which has practical, modular backrests that can be adjusted to suit your needs. Revised the location of the cup holders, which have been relocated to be within easy reach at all times. The sound and lighting systems were, however, designed to create a relaxing effect for a more livable and exclusive boat.

As on any “party” boat, aboard the VD32 there is no lack of a bar for preparing cocktails, served by a rather generous refrigerator. Under the seat of the settee is a sink that serves to provide fresh water for guests and to refresh oneself when on board. In keeping with a trend that is becoming increasingly popular in the boating world ,this VanDutch marries synthetic teak, which compared to vegetable teak is lightweight, easy to maintain and environmentally sustainable. Below deck is a cabin – dinette, with two single beds and a bathroom, in which to shelter with guests, for example, in case of rain. In each case, the shipyard identifies the boat as having two bunks on board. The deck’s signature style is also echoed in this area with a simple and essential layout.

VanDutch 32 – Motorization and Electronics

The VanDutch 32’s motorization reflects the brand’s “custom” approach, with a choice of four different engines, all Volvo Penta. It starts with a 480-horsepower 480 CE gasoline V8 and can rise to 600 horsepower from two D4-300/DPI diesels.

For those seeking less power, a single Volvo Penta D6-380 DPI is also available. Imagine then being able to control virtually every aspect of your boat at the touch of a button on the chartplotter: turning on the lights, what color to have them, starting the music or even checking engine operation or hauling anchor.

On board the VD32 you can do everything, just by sitting on the bridge. This is thanks to Garmin’s electronics with EmpirBus technology, chosen as standard on-board equipment with a 12-inch multifunction in the basic version or 16-inch as an option. We were talking earlier about minimalist design. This philosophy is also replicated in the dashboard where, thanks to these screens from Garmin, it is possible to have no buttons in sight. The result is an essential and clean wheelhouse.
