You arrive at the port, moor, and they hand you a smartphone where inside is everything you need to know what the port and surrounding area has in store for you during your stopover.

But then you have to move; you don’t have the car. Yeah, you came in the boat. Surely you would prefer to move in an environmentally friendly way, but… Here is the solution, electric vehicle rental with attached electric charging station. So you never run out of power. All these innovations to improve the stay in a marina have already made it a reality at Marinedi(www.marinedi.com), Italy’s largest marina network, which now includes thirteen marinas with 4,000 berths. This was announced by Renato Marconi, Marinedi’s CEO, when he presented these two useful services in Cagliari that enrich the comfort of his Marina Resorts even more.

IN THE SMARTPHONE IS EVERYTHING YOU NEED
For summer 2019, it is already active from next July at Marina of Teulada as a pilot marina, and then extend it to all other marinas the APP, but also the use of a smartphone that is delivered already with software that can have all the information needed to take advantage of the services and features of the area at your fingertips. This is how the person who made it, the MANET company, tells it: “We have included technical data, gps references, historical places and places to visit, food and wine excellences etc. The novelty compared to traditional applications lies in its aesthetic form as well as its functionality. It’s one thing to say “download the APP,” it’s another to greet a customer by handing them a cell phone and saying “welcome, here you find everything you need. For the rest, we are there.

ZERO-IMPACT VEHICLES DEPART FROM VILLASIMIUS
Regarding electric mobility for hire, Marinedi with the company DIPORTOINPORTO has already started the operation at Marina di Villasimius, and then extended it almost immediately to Marina di Teulada, Marina di Chiavari Calata Ovest, and Marina di Capo d’Anzio. Then, by the end of the year, all Marinedi marinas will be equipped with this service.

THE FUTURE IS NOW AT MARINEDI
But Marinedi does not want to stop here promises Marconi, who launches the manifesto of the Marina Resorts of the Future, with Italy at the forefront: “The transformation of the marina into a Marina Resort is a cultural as well as technical and technological leap because it inevitably leads to the dismantling of obsolete and anachronistic systems and management models in the face of the development that nautical tourism is bringing. The increase in the number of charters, the presence of foreign boats and crews, the demand for new services as well as climate change are new realities to which we are giving a prompt response. We started early and that is why we are ahead of others.”

Renato Marconi, chief executive officer of Marinedi

THE ECOLOGICAL CHALLENGE
Marconi also took stock of the ecological challenge that is already a reality for the Marinas:We have taken this challenge very seriously by launching various initiatives. At Marina di Capo d’Anzio The process to create the first energy-efficient watermaker has begun. In Anzio and other marinas, we are also far ahead in initiating incentive measures for the collection of garbage found at sea by fishermen and in cleaning the harbor’s body of water with the acquisition of the Seabin robot“.
