We were aboard the new Jeanneau Cap Camarat 9.0 walkaround Series 2, which brings all the philosophy of the new Jeanneau generation aboard this vessel (8.4 meters overall). Here’s what it looks like, how it navigates, and how much it costs.
What boat is the new Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2
A family vessel with up to 4 beds, an outdoor kitchen (optional) and good overall performance. It is a weekender, that is, the middle ground between a day boat and a cruising boat. In short, it has everything you need for a weekend at sea, including a fairly large bathroom, covered areas inside and out, and easy access to the water.
Recreation changes, needs change, and models update. This new Cap Camarat relies heavily on a revamped deck for greater modularity, especially in the cockpit. In the bow is the new “generation” of stepped sundeck that, in addition to creating a forward seat, allows more light to filter in below deck, increasing brightness and thus the livability of the interior without, however, sacrificing privacy and without, above all, bringing too much light (and therefore heat) inside. An expedient that can prove crucial in summer.
How Cap Camarat 9.0 navigates.
Let’s take a broad look at propulsion. Two Yamaha V6s of 250 horsepower each, the latest from the Japanese company, make for a good run with the Michael Peters-designed fairing. In fact, this vessel was not born as a bolide for excessive racing, but rather as a family boat. The possibility of having power at one’s disposal, however, is never despised; on the contrary. In this sense, the cruising speed of 23-25 knots is an ideal compromise between fuel consumption and performance, although with the knowledge that more can be pushed if desired.
