We’re at the Boot in Dusseldorf (ALL BOAT PREVIEWS HERE), the largest indoor boat show in the world. We fell in love with this Lekker gozzo, born between Holland… and Australia! Mixing Dutch sloop (with plenty of living space on board) with the Australian predisposition for fast boats, a series of very interesting models was born, such as the Lekker Damsko 750 Cabin, also available in open and semi-open versions.

LEKKER, A “DUTCH GOZZO” THAT REACHES 42 KTS

In Italy, the gozzo is one of the sacred monsters of boating, whether in wood or fiberglass. This model, the Damsko 750, has a large seat inside all around the wheelhouse, with a sundeck at stern and bow. The central rudder is a wheel and just below the helm seat is the engine, insulated both in terms of heat and noise, and easily accessible for maintenance.

Forward of the wheelhouse there is a locker that acts as a refrigerator and is accessible through a double opening, being also useful as a support table. An intelligent solution because when the table is set, it’s very useful to have the second access “door”, located towards the bow. Opening the central part of the bow sundeck a double berth, where a maximum of two people can sleep (with a toilet), is revealed.

The advantages of aluminium are obvious: ease of maintenance and customization, low cost and reliability.

ENGINES

The Damsko hides, beneath his gozzo line, considerable power. Depending on the motorization it can reach up to 42 knots of maximum speed.

Here are the available engines:
– MerCruiser Petrol 4.5L Bravo III DTS (250HP)
– MerCruiser Petrol 6.2L Bravo III DTS (350HP)
– Mercury Diesel 3.0L Bravo III X DTS (270HP)
