It will take $3.7 million to become, from the end of October, owner of the exclusive yacht presented by Lexus, signed LY 650. The American company continues to offer innovative and surprising all-round experiences to its customers and launches the challenge to the boating market with a 65-foot cruising yacht, derived from the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept, the project first presented in 2017.
Luxury lifestyle
Lexus has merged advanced technology and craftsmanship, as with today’s cars even at sea, to exceed the expectations of the owner. The LY 650 nautical flagship is the new incarnation of the Lexus “crafted” philosophy, which means attention to detail.
The shape of the hull, with abundant stern volume and beautiful curved lines, give the LY 650 a distinctive exterior style. Collaboration with Italian yacht design studio Nuvolari Lenard has resulted in advanced design and a comfortable interior living space.
In addition, in search of a cruise that matches the road performance of a Lexus, the yacht has a lightweight and highly rigid composite hull, combining CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic) and GFRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic). Hull construction was developed in collaboration with Marquis Yachts LLC – in Pulaski, Wisconsin, USA – which is also responsible for sales and customer service. With the LY 650, Marquis Yachts has adopted the famous Toyota Production System in its processes, to improve production efficiency and quality.
In perfect Lexus style, the LY 650 is equipped with LY-Link, an advanced connectivity technology for the boating industry to access timely navigation information and control the various functions of the yacht.
What is the Lexus of the Sea like?
The Lexus LY 650 is an elegant and sporty flybridge cruiser. The bow is strong and pronounced and the hull dynamic, with one of the widest widths of its class. The coupe-shaped roofline and accentuated aft flanks underline the cruising vocation. The premiere yacht features an optional two-tone color scheme that highlights its one-of-a-kind form and captures the image of the Lexus Sports Yacht Concept from 2017. Metallic accents on the bow, side windows, and the vessel’s L-shaped air intakes create the iconic image of a Lexus yacht.
“Omotenashi” concept
Omotenashi is the Japanese hospitality that anticipates and satisfies with sincerity and warmth the needs of guests. This philosophy inspires the interiors, in search of a high quality that is distinctly Lexus and presents a bright white themed space for a sense of openness, while the use of curved lines and creative lighting provide a comfortable feeling of envelopment. Experienced Takumi craftsmen from Lexus are committed to creating a boat of the highest quality.
The salon’s efficient layout features dual captain’s seats and sofas set forward and a galley set aft. Below the salon are three elegant berths with 6 feet and 6 inches (more than two meters) of headroom, each with a private head with shower.
The performance in navigation is up to the brand’s prestige: the Lexus LY 650 has been designed to provide both exceptional cruising stability and maneuverability. The LY 650 also boasts an array of piloting-support functions, including joystick control, fixed-point position-holding at sea, and an auto-flap function.
