A flash a few years ago: the brand
Lexus
unveils to the world the design of the
Lexus LY650
. At the Japan Boat Show 2024, Lexus returns to the forefront of yachting with the Lexus LY680. Bigger, more modern, and already available (in Japan) for sale.
Production will be handled by the Asian Horizon Group, specialists in catamarans and large yachts. Here’s what we know about the new Lexus yacht.
Lexus LY680
An evolution of the previous LY650, it has a significantly larger flybridge and aft platform than the previous model. Obviously, luxury is at the heart of this project given the high-end brand heritage of the Toyota family.
A retreat in the middle of the sea to relax and enjoy sailing. The Lexus yacht, as well as the brand’s cars, promises special attention to detail and finish, but not only that. The interior, from the images made available, appears to have large volumes and remarkable finishes, as well as a use of fine materials.
In the construction process, which will involve the Horizon Group with fundamental technical know-how, Toyota will bring its ability to industrialize and optimize processes to the maximum.
The exterior reflects the Lexus L-Finesse design philosophy, while the interior has been curated to experience a living space of comfort. In terms of performance, Lexus aims for confidence-inspiring cruising performance with stable handling, ride comfort and quietness.
The Lexus yacht? Only in Japan, for now
Lexus said orders will be accepted exclusively in Japan through Toyota Marine sales offices and other selected dealers. First deliveries are scheduled for spring 2026, and future sales to other foreign markets will be considered, depending on customer demand.
A 1/20-scale model of the LY680 is on display at the Japan International Boat Show 2024, March 21-24.
