There is a new open boat (9.6 m) ready to conquer the sea and it is all Italian, to be precise made in Sicily by
Lilybaeum Yacht
. It is the new Lilybaeum Lipari 31, a natural evolution of that
Levanzo 25
with which the shipyard successfully launched on the market in 2020.
Lilybaeum Lipari 31
This 9.6-meter motor vessel was born out of the request of several shipowners for a larger model along the lines paved by the Levanzo 25. The shipyard’s insight lies in having combined the sailing quality of a center console fisherman, several elements of which can be recognized in the hull, with a comfortable Mediterranean daycruiser deck. The bow, for example, is high and flared, and the aft deadrise is 22°, guaranteeing a dry and stable boat when sailing, with the ability to cope with even the most challenging seas.
Although it is a very young brand, the Barche a Motore journalists who boarded the Levanzo 25 at the last few fairs were able to see a level of quality that is truly handcrafted in the finishes and workmanship and material choices. If what we have seen is also confirmed on the new model, we would undoubtedly be looking at one of the most interesting new open day craft of 2023.
Lilybaeum Lipari 31 – Blanket
Starting from the stern we find a platform and the two outboards at the end, on a bracket. This allows for plenty of space and ease of access while using this type of marine propulsion. On the platform it is, in fact, possible to move easily while also maintaining usable surface area on the two sides.
Moving forward, the preview shows a single, almost full-beam step that leads us to two rather wide sundecks with a central walkway to access the cockpit without going over the cushions. The front of the sundeck creates a double L-shaped seating area abutting the wet bar area placed under a T-Top. The dashboard, also under this hard cover, is protected by a prominent windshield and is served by two seats. On the left side of the console we find access to the underdeck area.
At the far bow, however, is the most convivial area on board. For eating or having an aperitif, there is a C-shaped sofa that uses the full width of the bow area of the hull with a center table and another seat placed under the windshield. By lowering the table and putting a cushioning on top, we can have a second sundeck.
The shipboard surface on the main deck is, as standard, partially covered in Flexiteek already in the standard version, as are many other features.
Lilybaeum Lipari 31 – Below Deck.
The big difference, besides size, with Lilybaeum’s Levanzo 25 is the area below deck. On the Lipari 31, in fact, for pure dayboat use it is possible to have a large bathroom compartment with a full-height shower, toilet and changing room. Addition, this one, that for those who spend an entire day at sea should not be underestimated.
For those who want a watercraft that winks at cruising, or otherwise offers a double berth below deck, you can opt for the “Cabin” version.
Propulsion
At the propulsion level, the choice is all about outboards. It goes from one to two engines, for a total output of between 400 and 700 horsepower. Given the 2.5-ton displacement of the preliminary board, it is fair to expect a boat capable of achieving very interesting speeds.
