LXNAV is a small company, founded in 2010, with world-leading experience in light aviation and glider instrumentation. After years of success (90 percent of gliders in the world are equipped with LXNAV instrumentation), it entered the marine electronics market in 2016, developing and producing in-house (in Slovenia) NMEA2000 converters for engine monitoring, fluids, J1939 adapters, GPS antennas, and nautical chartplotters.
LXNAV: on-board electronics made in Slovenia
With a team of about 30 employees, half of whom are software and hardware developers, LXNAV is a small Slovenian company active in the field of on-board electronics. In addition to marketing its products to the public, it provides customized solutions for boat and engine manufacturers such as Sunseeker and VETUS. The company’s main goal is to develop intuitive and intelligent marine electronic products with wireless connectivity and easy user configuration. Everything is developed and manufactured in-house at the company’s headquarters in Celje, in the heart of Slovenia.
LXNAV’s chartplotters
LXNAV developers have designed a full range of chartplotters with displays from 3.5 inches to 9 inches. They allow both map systems and basic boat data (echosounder, speed, engine data, tanks, etc…) to be displayed. OpenSeaMaps is the free, preinstalled basic nautical chart. The 5-, 7- and 9-inch screens are compatible with NAVIONICS cartography (There is an SD card slot on the side of the device). All devices have built-in GPS and Wi-Fi and are compatible with VDO and FUSION for music control. There is NMEA2000 support.
NMEA2000 converters
Most LXNAV converters have built-in Wi-Fi to connect with your smartphone and perform configuration easily. This solution is very practical and saves time since it is not necessary to take the computer with you on the boat to perform the configuration. The best-selling product is the SmartEMU, a device that converts analog engine signals to digital NMEA2000. It reports the rudder position, monitors fluid levels (fuel tanks, wastewater, oil), monitors the engine (rpm, fuel flow, oil pressure, oil temperature, engine temperature, engine warning signals), and acts as a tachometer to measure engine operating hours.
LXNAV. The onboard home automation tracker
SmartGPS is a device that allows you to remotely monitor your boat. Aimed at the charter market but not only, this device is equipped with an NMEA2000 antenna that includes a 4G SIM card compatible with EU countries. In addition to providing the location of the vessel, with advanced features such as geofencing alerts (a virtual perimeter crossed which a notification is sent), allows remote viewing of all data connected to the NMEA2000 system: such as echosounder, battery status, fuel consumption, engine RPM, etc. Full trip history and statistics are provided on the online platform.
