Versatility is now an increasingly characteristic element in ship design, especially when it concerns motor boating.
Providing an excellent example of this in this case is Mylius, which at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 (Sept. 10-15) will present its new 14.65-meter, the Mylius 47 Power project developed by the shipyard’s historic designer, Alberto Simeone. È a fast, cabin cruiser designed to be usable both as a day-cruiser and as a tender.
It can exceed the
55 knots of top speed, large outdoor lounge areas and up to 4 beds on board, the new M47P in fact stands as an ideal hull for both roles, well-functioning both as a chase-boat and as an elegant runabout for days on the water and nights out.
Fridges, galley and toilet, for that matter, make it complete in every respect.

Mylius 47 Power

Mylius, however, looks not only at the functionality of its new hull, but rather achieves something that goes beyond that, marrying performance and elegance in toto in a boat with a minimalist design, in full contrast to the brute power that, instead, its 4 outboard Mercury Racing 500 horsepower each will be able to develop..
Matching this is the double-step hull, here optimized to offer the best control of the craft, taking the hull to speeds of 55 knots thanks to a reduced wetted surface area.
Performance and looks, however, are necessarily joined by comfort, which, as you will discover in the next few lines, does not abandon a single cm of the entire deck.
While waiting to find out in Cannes, here is a preview of the M47P.

Mylius 47 Power – External Volumes

Let’s start with the aesthetic component, which is absolutely remarkable here.
The new M47P, in fact, screams only one thing at a glance: cleanliness.
Yes, because the lines, from the broadside to the foredeck, from the Top to the double steps so clearly visible, only one component jumps out at the eye, minimalism and purity of lines.
Indeed, the Mylius 47P is, from this point of view, one of the cleanest and sleekest hulls on the market.
But beware, minimalist aesthetics do not negate on-board amenities.
The deck, in fact, although in tone with the lines, is populated first and foremost by a large aft sundeck, anticipated by a large walkable area just beyond the outboard motor that, yes, engages the swim platform, but maximizes interior volumes at the same time.
Beyond the sundeck, an open-air galley offers cooking surfaces, refrigerators, and work surfaces, while, racing seating designed for high performance accommodates up to 4 people on the bridge.
Concluding the layout is a vast forward space, complete, in the deckhouse, with a second sundeck.

Mylius 47 Power – Internal Volumes

Benefiting from outboard motorization, the M47P’s interior offers a layout suited to the needs of 4 people, complete with all the necessities the type of boat can meet.
In the bow, then, is the owner’s cabin, strong with a double bed, stowage furniture and private toilet, with shower stall.
In the stern, on the other hand, takes place the guest cabin, accessible from the cockpit and equipped with twin beds and, in turn, private toilet.

Motorization and performance

Coming finally to the technical side, the M47P boasts four Mercury Racing outboards of 500 horsepower each, for a total of 1,300 total horsepower.
The double-step hull then does the rest of the work, facilitating greater hull control at high speeds thanks to its reduced wetted surface area and the increased lift it gives.
Qualities that, overall, offer cruising speeds of 25 knots, with as many as 55 knots, on the other hand, as top speed.
