The Palma de Mallorca boat show is a prime vantage point for observing news and trends. Among them we uncovered a very interesting treat, a motor catamaran: the Makai M37.
Makai M37
The motor catamaran,
as we have seen in this article
, is a boat on the rise. Today we are telling you about a model that comes from a Croatian shipyard, Makai Yachts, with the signature of Italian Emanuele Rossi of the
Eryd Yacht Design
.
The debut of this powercat, Makai M37, took place at PIBS, the Palma International Boat Show 2024.
What this catamaran looks like
The Makai M37 is 11 meters long and 4.65 meters wide. The hull is designed explicitly for motor sailing and is not a derivative of a sail model. This means that the water lines are optimized for stern-drive propulsion. The maximum power of each engine is 370 horsepower, and with this thrust it reaches a top speed around 38/39 knots.

The standard version is with a cockpit cover, a kind of large coupe like the one in the video. Inside, there are two cabins that reach a height of 2.04 meters thanks to a generous freeboard, though well camouflaged in the streamlined aesthetics of this hull.
From this beam (4.65 m) we expect significant spaces all along the deck, especially for the sundeck and hard-top protected area, but also inside. In this sense, the windows and volumes give an important feeling of space and brightness that also makes this hull suitable as a weekender or short/medium range cruiser. It is then, without a doubt, a vessel designed for the Mediterranean audience given both the abundance of its interior and exterior.
