A new all-weather boat for experiencing long periods aboard. The 2025 season is ready to go, and among the new features not to be missed is the second model of the Marex 440. After the 440 Gourmet Cruiser, comes the Scandinavia version of the shipyard’s 13-meter vessel. Set to debut at Boot Düsseldorf 2025(Jan. 18-26), it is a pure cruiser designed for family or friends. This new 13.7-meter cruiser is a collaboration between the shipyard and Slovenian studio VOM Creations (design), Nikl Design (naval) and Alpha Creations (engineering).
Marex 440 Scandinavia
What’s new about this Marex? It is offered with six berths on board divided between three cabins: master cabin with private bathroom and two aft cabins with a shared bathroom. Compared to the Gourmet version is the more traditional dining area, with sofas and table on the port side and a classic galley on the starboard side. The wheelhouse always finds space on the starboard side. With a focus on social spaces, the Marex 440 Scandinavia offers two large dining areas on board and provides quick and direct access to the deck through the pilot and co-pilot side doors.
What does the living room look like? With a dining area and sofa with two pull-out stools, it is designed to be experienced in total comfort inside as well. There is, however, also a second dining area, outside, but still well protected, which makes for a very versatile vessel. These two are, by the way, easily connected and create a very large convivial super zone indeed.
But two dining areas are no use without a good kitchen. This is what Scandinavia’s looks like: double sink, oven and Miele induction stove. Then there is a 220-liter refrigerator and a 100-liter freezer. In keeping with the need for autonomy and sustainability, as an additional option, the refrigerator and freezer are powered by roof-mounted solar panels and can run throughout the season without the need for shore power.
A special feature is the folding television hidden in the salon ceiling that is rotating and allows it to be viewed from both the cockpit and the salon.
Below deck
The Marex 440 Scandinavia, like the Gourmet version, has a two- or three-cabin layout. The two-cabin layout includes a forward master cabin with a 1.70 x 2.00 m bed and a bathroom with a separate shower. The second guest cabin has a private bathroom, a 1.80 x 2.00 m bed, a comfortable sofa along the window line, a dressing area at the entrance, and can be supplied with a washing machine (dryer). The three-cabin layout includes a master cabin with bathroom and two double cabins with shared facilities.
