For over 50 years, you can find all the marine electronics you and your boat need here
Marine Pan Service is an Italian company founded in 1973 that exclusively represents some of the best brands of boat instrumentation in Italy.
Marine Pan Service represents one of the most dynamic historical realities in Italian marine electronics. Born in 1973 from an intuition of Fernando Dell’Uomo in response to a concrete need in the industry and protagonist of some of the most relevant evolutions in services and products for navigation, the company is today a point of reference for both the professional and the pleasure boating sectors. “My father, always on board international ships and passionate about radiantism, enjoyed trying to speak in the various languages. He was also fascinated by Greek, and that “Pan,” which in this language means “everything” (with a sense of total wholeness), captured his interests to the point of putting it in the name of his company, to mean Everything (but really everything) for marine services,” Mauro Dell’Uomo, now leading the company, tells us.
Origins: a family view
The idea of founding Marine Pan Service germinated in Civitavecchia in the mind of Fernando Dell’Uomo, a technician and rap- presenter already active in the 1960s with the famous Atlas echometers, then essential for fishing vessels. On the threshold of the 1970s, naval electronic instrumentation was in full transition: the pioneering era of the first “primordial” instruments was coming to a close and the era of the console as the nerve center of the bridge was beginning. “My father had no difficulty in understanding this trend, and observing the lack in the port of Civitavecchia of a company specializing in servicing naval instrumentation, he made the decision to found Marine Pan Service May 29, 1973, I was only 8 years old, but I understood that that would be a very important day,” he recalls Mauro Dell’Uomo. At that time, timeliness was the most sought-after added value: instruments such as radar, echometers, and VHF were beginning to be perceived as indispensable, and only those who could count on prompt assistance could truly sail safely.

Expansion from merchant to pleasure craft
With the emergence of electronic instrumentation also in the recreational world, the company takes a natural step: it opens the “Yachting Division,” diversifying the business and intercepting the needs of the new cruising and sporting users. The 2000s mark an acceleration: the proprietary brand Nav-Station and important distribution partnerships are born with names such as Cobra Marine, GME and Boss Marine, which choose Marine Pan Service as a reference for the Italian market. The ability to interpret the needs of shipowners and professionals, both in terms of safety and leisure, fosters steady growth at this stage for the company.
Left, The Steiner Commander 7×50 is the solution for those looking for a reliable instrument. Sharp field of view up to 1,000 meters away, 7x magnification and waterproof to 10 meters. Resistant to temperatures from -40° to +80°. Right, Boss Marine is among the brands distributed by Marine Pan Service. The MGR350B stereo is among the company’s flagship products, an instrument that installs in the dashboard and is immediately ready to play music via Bluetooth, AUX or USB.
Focus on safety
Commercial milestones include security-related devices such as Cobra VHFs and GME EPIRBs. “Our passion is safety devices. Because we believe that this kind of product needs to be supported by a company that is strongly based on sound ethical principles that are enforced before mere profit, and we feel completely immersed in this kind of path. It is therefore no coincidence that our best sellers are Cobra’s VHFs or GME’s EPIRBs. However, we have also had amazing results in the entertainment field, particularly with Boss Marine’s audio. In addition, we should not forget that in 2021 we were also entrusted with the distribution of Steiner marine binoculars, and since then the numbers have soared,” Mauro dell’Uomo confides to us.
If you are looking for a full-featured VHF, Cobra Marine’s MR HH600 (photo left) is the one for you. Built-in DSC and GPS and Microblue Bluetooth technology to connect your cell phone and handle calls. With GME’s EPIRB MT606G (left) you can really rest easy. It integrates AIS, a high-intensity strobe light and self-heating of electronic components to prevent malfunction in cold temperatures.
The great challenges of the present and the future
Throughout its more than 50-year history, Marine Pan Service has never shied away from challenges. Among the greatest is its return, after thirty years, to the world of information technology: not just a return, but a willingness to take leadership by working directly on the basic engines of information technology, areas that have remained uninnovative since the 1990s. Imagination and initiative continue to fuel the desire to confront ever new markets and solutions. Marine Pan Service was one of the first Italian companies in the industry to digitize, managing servers and software in-house as early as the 1990s, and developing programs since the 1980s. After also becoming a reference in the management of electronic invoicing protocols, with digital solutions such as FeX-app, it continues its expansion in both the marine and IT sectors, focusing on developing new data parsing and validation engines. Everything Marine Pan Service offers is still guided by a philosophy based on values and ethics: safety is not just a product, but a responsibility. The goal is to always be of service to customers, helping boating meet the challenges of the future through expertise, speed, and adaptation to new technologies. From Fernando Dell’Uomo ‘s pioneering insight to the current reality, Marine Pan Service remains a benchmark for those seeking quality, safety and innovation in boating services and products. The company continues to distinguish itself through a combination of vision, reliability and a focus on values, strongly upholding the role of service as central to its corporate identity from its founding to the present. A seafaring story that continues to plough new horizons, always focused on making a difference in the lives of those who sail.
