Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of social platforms Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, and Threads, treated himself to a dream boat. According to reports in several English-speaking newspapers, in fact, the American billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gotten his hands on“Launchpad,” a 118-meter-long yacht built at the Dutch shipyard Feadship.
A secret $300 million project
The yacht Launchpad, known when it was still under construction under the code name“Project 1010,” recently left the Dutch shipyards to join what would be its new owner. The billionaire CEO of Meta Platforms reportedly spent about $300 million to bring home this luxurious vessel, which was recently seen docked in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA). A small part of his wealth, estimated to be around $180 billion, built up from the creation-now almost two decades ago-of the first social network that could spread widely around the world: Facebook.

There is no certainty that the buyer of the Launchpad is really the inventor of Facebook-despite the fact that the boat has a blue color that resembles him-and in addition last December Marck Zuckerberg was reportedly seen visiting the Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands. Moreover, the fact that the yacht is now in U.S. waters only fuels the hypothesis, which is currently the most credited. However, from both the construction site and the Zuck-owned company, no statements filter out at the moment, and indeed, absolute privacy prevails.
From the few photos that have circulated on the net, it is known that Launchpad is an impressively sized boat, 118 meters in length and about 5,000 tons in tonnage, capable of exceeding 20 knots of speed despite its imposing size. The design was handled by the studio of nautical archistar Espen Øino(we told you about Bruttino, his personal boat, here) while the interiors were entrusted to French studio Zuretti Interior Design. It is speculated that as many as 24 guests and 48 crew members could be accommodated on board
