Max 44 R by Maxim Yachts

The fast walkaround for cruising at over 50 knots? Her name is Max 44 R, 13 meters, and she is the new outboard model from Maxim Yachts. Powered by three 400-horsepower Mercury Verado V10s, it is a decidedly fast boat designed to pander to the demands of the American market, but not only. In any case, it is scheduled to debut at the Miami Boat Show 2025.

At Boot Düsseldorf 2025, in addition to debuts, several boats coming in the next few months were also unveiled. The golden moment for walkarounds continues, and they continue to be among the most sought-after boats. Among the most popular sizes are undoubtedly the 45-footers.

In a market Maxim Yachts has chosen to focus strongly on performance. Max 44 R is thus a pure daycruiser with design by Alex Cherigny and engineering by the Isonaval studio capable of reaching 51 knots maximum speed thanks to a triple outboard motor of 1,200 total Mercury Verado horsepower. Upon request, however, three 450-horsepower Yamaha outboards can also be installed. The hull is double-step.

What does this walkaround look like

A bullet of over 13 meters where the focus is undoubtedly on external livability. Despite the outboards, in fact, you can count on a usable platform because the engines are mounted at the extreme stern. From here on, in appearance we have the classic layout with plenty of surface area where we find a sundeck and a double center table. To increase seating, two side sofas have been added on the bulwarks. Between folding tables and sofas (four of which one is equipped with two portable refrigerators) there is room for up to 10 people in total to dine together.

Given all the seating, an adequate kitchen is also necessary. The 44 R is equipped with a cooktop, a sink, and two large refrigerators, with the possibility of installing up to four refrigerators and an ice machine. The helm station is modern and sporty, given also the boat’s racing attitude, and includes a four-person carbon fiber console with two 16-inch Garmin screens and 11 analog gauges. The entire boat can be served by a powerful sound system. On the bridge deck, given the large space dedicated to the aft wheelhouse area, the forward lounge is more sacrificed than in other similar models, but still manages to accommodate a C-shaped sofa forward and a seat aft.

Also for the night

The streamlined profile hides them well, but boats like these often have sleeping spaces as well. The new Maxim is inline and offers two double cabins, one of which converts to a dinette.
