The walkaround gets really fast. It’s the new 13.8-meter-long Max 44R, a model from Maxim Yachts that was created for a very demanding owner who wanted a vehicle that was quick in movement, but with maximum comfort on board. Just think that the dining area can accommodate up to 12-14 people seated at the same time. How is this possible? With a “genius” that is as simple as it is effective. In addition to classic seating and a table that takes advantage of virtually the entire beam (3.8 meters) there is also a double bench in the bow, close to the wet bar area, given by two “loose” refrigerators with a cover around them that function as cushions. In this way we combine the useful with the pleasant by significantly increasing the supply of cold drinks on board, which is essential when you have a lot of guests, with the ability to seat even more people.

The 60-knot walkaround

Max 44R is the fastest walkaround ever built by the shipyard. The version we tested had three 450-horsepower Yamaha V8 engines. It does 60 knots of top speed, and that’s thanks to a double-step, deep-V hull with 21 degrees of deadrise aft. Seaworthiness is excellent, as is sailing comfort.

Regardless of the speed, it is a very comfortable boat, but above all finished well. Attention to detail, quality of materials with a few “pluses” such as the carbon dashboard.

How much does the Max 44R cost

How much does all this cost? The price of the Maxim 44R is 850 thousand euros plus VAT, with already a lot of accessories included.
