Mercury Marine has announced the arrival of its 6 hp EFI outboard engine, designed for owners of small boats such as tenders might be.

Enhanced Performance and Torque

Developed on the proven 209 cc. Mercury 8/9.9 EFI base, this new twin-cylinder model offers high displacement that translates into superior torque, with fast and reliable starts in all conditions.

As Mercury EMEA President Facundo Onni explained, “With the introduction of a two-cylinder EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) model, Mercury significantly improves the comfort and driving experience for boaters by offering a greater torque, smoother operation and greater responsiveness. Qhis enlargement of the EFI range allows Mercury to strengthen its presence in the license-free engine segment, since the 6 hp represents the maximum power allowed without a license in France, a criterion essential for many boaters.”

Designed for Intuitiveness

The 6 hp EFI is designed for maximum ease of use for boaters.Starts, the true cross of tender engines, are always reliable: the he calibration of the engine’s control unit ensures immediate ignition in all weather conditions, as well as excellent fuel efficiency. In addition, the outboard can be c ontrolled with one hand, because the‘s unique multifunctional guide bar from Mercury allows you to manage gear shifting and throttle by simply rotating the handle, effectively freeing up your other hand. Optimal power also on heavy boats, thanks to the‘high displacement of the two cylinders that ensures high torque. The new 6 hp EFI also is designed to minimize maintenance: for example, freshwater flushing is made quick and safe thanks to dedicated quick couplings.
