Reversed foredeck, large broadside windows, main deck with large 360-degree windows and furnished flybridge to conclude. Here comes the new Mylius M62P and is presented as A cruiser to watch out for. Long 19.5 meters and born from the pens of the studios Ceccarelli Yacht Design and Parisotto+Formenton, the new 62-footer from home Mylius is indeed a design that knows how to get noticed, a semi-displacement hull capable of taking up to 4 people, plus possible crew, on a cruise, offering respectable volumes and lounge areas for every eventuality.
Mylius M62P
Made of solid from the waterline down, then lightened in the superstructures-down to fly carbon-the new Mylius is a hull designed for true cruising, although lendable to daily or weekender use as well. Class A certified and strong with a high freeboard, it is in fact a hull designed to sail in a variety of conditions, offering the maximum allowed by the spaces, strong with a 5.6-meter beam and a waterline length of more than 18 meters. There is also no shortage of on-board appliances, from air conditioning to appliances, but first, let’s take a closer look at its lounge and outdoor areas.
Exterior
Starting from the stern, the first welcoming element is a large hydraulic teak-lined swim platform. A proven solution in ship design, ideal both as a beach area and as a tender-lift so that the latter can be stored in its garage with as little effort as possible. Just to either side of the latter, two separate staircases lead to the cockpit, the first convivial area on the M62P; a space furnished with sofas and table and protected by a hard top at its top, a natural continuation of the flybridge.
Overlooking the cockpit, the interior salon then comes to life, the living area present on the main deck, while, proceeding along the two bulwarks, one reaches the forward lounge, populated by a large sundeck complete with serving table.
Concluding the outdoor spaces is the furnished flybridge, here designed to be a raised terrace from which, yes, to be able to take command, but dedicated, first and foremost, to relaxation. In fact, the furnishings on the fly include a large forward sundeck, immediately followed by a C-shaped sofa at the broadside, complete with central table and usable as an elevated dining area. Opposite this, in fact, takes place an open air kitchen complete with kitchenette, refrigerator, griddle, and barbeque. In the stern, however, two lounge chairs overlook the sea, providing an additional sunbathing area.
Mylius M62P – Interior
Shifting attention to the interior, the layout proposed by Parisotto+Formenton immediately greets with a living room surrounded by glass windows. Here, a living area immediately engages the space, offering a pair of sofas facing and served by a table, and then moving to the bow, where the galley inside takes its place instead, open plan and located on the starboard bulkhead.
The kitchen, configured in a C shape and complete with every appliance from refrigerator to dishwasher, is mirrored on the staircase leading to the sleeping area. Just beyond, however, the command post takes hold, served to the left by a small lounge area.
Designed for cruising, the Mylius M62P offers, consequently to the design line, as much attention to the sleeping area as to the living area. Moving below deck, in fact, the spaces are immediately dominated by the two cabins of the standard version. In the middle of the boat, to take advantage of all the available beam, the master stateroom takes hold, obviously double and complete with en-suite bathroom and shower. To match, a second VIP cabin occupies the forward spaces, consisting of two modular single beds designed to be easily converted into a single double. The sailor’s cabin, on the other hand, finds its place even further forward, accessible both from inside and from the deck.
Semi-displacement and powered by a pair of Volvo Penta D13-IPS 1350s, the Mylius M62P is, first of all, certified as Class A, meaning it has almost minimal limitations. In terms of performance, 14 knots is the equivalent of its “economical,” i.e., low-consumption, speed regime, while, in terms of cruising speed, the range rises to 18 knots. Instead, there are 28 knots of maximum speed available. In terms of range, however, the tank accommodates up to 3,000 liters of fuel, which is needed to power the two Volvos, as well as that of the on-board generators, which are essential for the enjoyment of most of the appliances present.
