Home automation, integrated equipment and controls are now central elements aboard every boat, and MZ-Link, a product of MZ-Electronic, compatible with Raymarine instrumentation, as well as Garmin’s, has now been added to the instrumentation landscape.
MZ-Link, integrated systems to facilitate on-board operations
By now, however, we are not only talking about the management of, for example, engines and their status from a plotter, but the topic also closely touches all those accessories that always allow us to navigate safely and easily. This device allows you to integrate Italwinch products and easily control winches, chain counters, and thrusters.
How does it work? With MZ-LINK, one can first choose the type of boat and, depending on the unit, set some specific parameters and customize the interface. This way you are able to have maximum uniformity between instruments and boat. By managing, for example, the bow thrusters and stern thrusters, it is possible to make it rotate or translate for the benefit of ease of maneuvering, such as when in port or maneuvering in tight spaces. A feature, this, that is especially appreciable on large units, where precision and integration in maneuvering are critical. At the same time anchor ascent or descent (up to 2) can also be managed, as well as it is possible to set the quantities of the same chain to be given automatically, or display the chain counter on the plotter for up to two winches.
By now, integrated controls move far beyond simply condensing information, and are no longer just indexes of parameters, but key elements in simplifying and improving the management of many on-board operations. Indeed, with the recent development seen in recent years, they become almost essential tools to simplify life for the user, and overall improve the overall experience.
