Following the 2021 debut of the DF140BG and DF115BG outboards(read the article here), today
Suzuki Marine Italy
announces the marketing in Italy of two new models with medium power, the Suzuki DF140B and Suzuki DF115B, with mechanical control. They will be available from spring 2022.

Suzuki DF140B and DF115B

These two new outboards are listed as ideal for boats from 16 to 20 feet (about 4.8 meters to 6 meters). They feature an aluminum monoblock with a 2,045 cc 4L architecture, with a 10.6:1 compression ratio. With improved fuel combustion efficiency, an increase in acceleration and speed with optimized fuel consumption is expected.

Aesthetically, one notices the new grille that gives a sportier and more modern look to the engine, but not only that. The grille of the new Suzuki DF140B and DF115B at the same time also incorporates an air intake system that improves the inflow and separation of water spray. Here Suzuki’s engineering team inserted a silencer that lowers engine noise at all engine speeds.

Suzuki DF140B and DF115B – Medium-sized outboards

Medium-sized outboards are among the most popular on the market because they cater to so many types of boats. They are then engines that in many cases are used frequently throughout the year. For this Suzuki has worked to increase the durability of these outboards in two ways. On the one hand, there is a new engine cover and more efficient transmission oil flow. On the other is easier maintenance activities, a change in the position of the oil filter, and a widening of the diameter of the opening for the lubricant level indicator. What does it mean? That upon replacement, the larger hole allows a larger oil change tube to be inserted. To protect the engine when using water-contaminated fuel, Suzuki added a fuel filter, which is also easy to access and inspect.

Suzuki DF140B and DF115B – Pricing and Customization

Production of the Suzuki DF140B and Suzuki DF115B outboards began in late 2021. The new engines will start arriving in spring 2022. How much do they cost?

The list price, including VAT, ex dealer of the new mechanical outboards, effective January 21, 2022, is from:

Neither PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) nor installation costs are included in the list price.

These outboards will be available in two colors: Nebular Black and Super Cool White (with an additional charge of €100). Available versions are 20-inch (50 cm) long shank (L) and 25-inch (63 cm) extra-long shank (X), in rotating and counter-rotating variants.

What is the difference with between the Suzuki DF140B – DF115B and the Suzuki DF 115 BG – DF 140 BG?

The Suzuki DF115BG and 140BG outboards introduced in 2021 were the first of this power with drive-by-wire technology. In contrast, the new Suzuki DF140B and DF115B have mechanical control.
