This is the moment for the Z72, the new and future flagship of the Dutch shipyard Zeelander. Superyacht? Almost, with its 22 meters and a series of features that closely resemble the giants of yachting. This 72 foot is the latest project of the Dutch shipyard and is already under construction. The S-shape with the rounded, but decided lines typical of the Dutch shipyard make everybody sure about its origin.
“When I’m working on a boat I try to create it with unique but recognizable lines, they should not be exaggerated, but surprising, lines that are beautiful today and will be tomorrow”. Z72 was born from the hand of designer Cor D. Rover who described his work with this word.
How Zeelander 72 will looks like
A S-shaped deck, a wide stern and many curves in the surfaces. The profile of the hull enhances the high performance of this 22 meters, which will be equipped with a triple 1000 hp IPS 1350 engine to fly up to 40 knots with a cruising speed of 25 knots. The interiors, curated by the Zeelander staff in collaboration with the boat owner, will be totally custom, personalised on the client’s requests. The deckhouse will be closed and surrounded by a large glass window that will make the area of the wheelhouse and the dinette particularly bright, also through a sunroof above the dining table. The wheelhouse is put in order to give the skipper a 360° view on what is around the boat thanks to the windscreen and the narrow uprights in the windows.
Z72: comfort as a mega yacht
The mega yacht atmosphere can also be felt in the interior. The layout of the Z72 includes three cabins with the master in the bow with ample space available. In this future flagship, the attention to details will certainly be strong with a sophisticated but comfortable furniture. Large sunroof, shell windows, curving parapets and leather accented accents combine with a large deck footprint to lend an authentic superyacht atmosphere to the owners’ lodgings. The other accommodations will consist of a pair of double cabins located halfway up the boat with entry doors to optimize the use of space. Each cabin will benefit from the same level of adaptation and finish, with a private head with separate shower. The other typical solution of the mega yachts will be the tender garage near which there will also be the crew quarters accessible through a hatch in the aft deck, where the crew will have a private berth.
As with any large motor boat, attention to detail such as noise attenuation and vibration damping for onboard systems is very strong. For this Zeelander will be equipped with a Seakeeper gyro stabilization system to maximize comfort.
