After the success of the WTC 11 series, the Swedish shipyard is kicking it up a notch and will present its new range at the upcoming Boot in Düsseldorf, declining to an even larger size, reaching over 12 meters. The philosophy is summed up by the designer himself, Joacim Gustavsson: “When something is loved, you don’t replace it, you perfect it.” In short, it is really the case to say: a winning team does not change! At least in substance, because there is no shortage of new features.

Nimbus WTC 12

WTC is an acronym that identifies the three versions with which the usual hull is outfitted: Weekender, Tender and Commuter. Thus, the technical platform is common, with a double-step planing hull, refined to provide handling and over 45 knots of speed. Now, the swim platform has been extended and is now made with double-mold construction, structurally integrated with the hull. Also new are the wheelhouse seats, redesigned for greater lateral support, and indicative of the yard’s focus on seaworthiness in all conditions.

Nimbus T12

The T12 is the true open of the family, a sporty walkaround designed for those who experience the boat primarily in the daytime. It receives the most extensive upgrades: the new T-top is wider and longer to give a completely new aesthetic profile and more effective shading. It integrates solar panels and acrylic sections that filter light and heat. Aft, livability increases thanks to the starboard side balcony, which extends social space in the roadstead. For the first time, two 425-hp Mercury V10s can be installed for distinctly sporty performance.

The W12 represents the perfect balance between dayboat and cruising boat. It echoes the typical Nimbus layout with the side-walk configuration (deckhouse and command station off-center on the port side). Large social areas on deck, transformable cockpit between dining and lounging are renewed by increased storage capacity for equipment and water toys. Below deck sleeping quarters allow for weekend living aboard in comfort.

Commuter 12

Finally, the C12 is the “all weather” version, designed as a year-round means of transportation. The enclosed deckhouse and protected walkways provide safety and shelter, while the large glass surfaces and salon openings allow for a choice of closed or more open configuration. Combined with outboard engines or Volvo Penta D4 DPI diesels, the C12 serves as a fast and reliable shuttle without sacrificing the comfort typical of Nimbus cruisers.
