In Scandinavia, boats, they know how to make them.
Trivial statement but one about which few doubts can arise.
And, if the Scandinavian market today excels in one area, it is the adventure boat market.
Finland’s Nord Star, engaged in shipbuilding since 1920, is one of the greatest demonstrations of this today and, once again, will soon voice this vocation with a new hull, the Nord Star 49+, a 15.45-meter dedicated to offshore cruising, in any conditions.
Top quality, up to 7 berths, flybridge and up to 37 knots of top speed indeed make it a boat not to be underestimated, ideal both for spending time outdoors and for going anywhere, comfortably and sheltered.
North Star 49+
The glance is reminiscent of a workhorse, heavy-duty hull, strong with aggressive lines and forward-projected pilot house.
Yet, it is elegance that takes center stage aboard the new Nord Star 49+, strong on refined interiors devoted to maximizing comfort.
Ahead of her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, here’s a preview for you.
Nord Star 49+ – Blanket
At first glance the new 49+ evokes one thing and one thing only, seaworthiness.
High freeboards, heavy-duty style cabin and rubberized sickle are indeed reminiscent of work hulls typically employed in every-weather operations.
And the impression would not be far from the truth.
This, however, is immediately joined by the dedicated comfort elements that populate the deck, immediately giving another impression to the complex.
In the stern, beyond the aft platform, the furnished cockpit appears in fact and immediately, protected in part by the flybridge and fronted by access to the salon.
Forward, more comfort, with a triple sunpad recessed into the deckhouse to provide a forward lounge.
It is on the fly, however, that the exteriors really come to life. The flybridge is in fact the heart of the 49+’s outdoor living, and its furnishings prove it.
In addition to the ever-present outdoor wheelhouse, an open-air galley with grill/bbq and a large salon find their place here, creating an elevated space like a terrace overlooking the sea.
Interior
Shifting our attention indoors, the first space that greets us is the salon on the main deck, an elegant space consisting of a C-shaped galley immediately facing the cockpit and a subsequent sitting area with an L-shaped sofa, followed by the wheelhouse.
On the lower deck, however, three cabins offer up to 7 guest berths, taking advantage of the hull’s maximum beam and offering a complex of two toilets, one shared, and one private for the master cabin.
