We climbed aboard the new Nordkapp Enduro 830, which has just had its world premiere at Boot Düsseldorf. A vessel that is just over 8 meters long overall by less than 3 meters wide but manages space to perfection. It is versatile and practical-the nautical transposition of what in the automotive world we would call a compact suv.
To meet the typical versatility characteristics of an SUV you need to be able to do a little bit of everything well. This is the philosophy behind the Nordkapp Enduro 830: a boat that is perfect as a day boat for family outings, but also for mini-cruises of a few days for a couple. Or it can take you fishing, getting away from the coast without worrying too much about sea conditions.

Here in Düsseldorf we were only able to hand-test one version of this boat, but there are a total of four configurations available. We start, of course, with the simple Classic, a pure open completely free of any cover, and move on to the Adventurer, which adds a sprayhood and a canopy to protect the aft cockpit. If that’s still not enough for you, the Riviera adds a lightweight t-top, possibly extendable with awnings fore and aft (probably the most versatile for Mediterranean use). T-top that can be fully enclosed in the Explorer version to turn it into a true Scandinavian cruiser.
