Agile, fast, fun: NX 270 is the ideal vehicle for approaching the world of boating. Easy to manage and competitively priced, below deck it has a double cabin and a bathroom. Outdoors plenty of space and a large aft deck with barbecue.

The brand NX Boats maybe you don’t know it well yet, but across the Atlantic Ocean, in the United States and South America, it is a shipyard that has carved out its own distinctly important place in the market over the past 10 years: Brazilian from the Recife area, it is a reality that produces 420 boats per year, has a production facility of 30.000 m² and employs 480 employees.

NX 270 is a perfect day-cruiser that, however, also does not disdain weekend getaways or small cruises thanks to the space it has below deck: a cabin and bathroom with surprising dimensions (here as in the hallway area the height is 190 cm).

Sea-view kitchen…

The cockpit is very functionally organized: a large central living area with table and L-shaped settee leads toward the aft bridge, probably the most interesting and spectacular place on this eight-footer. Not only does it stand out for its considerable size but also because it directly overlooks a large barbecue built into the transom.

A smart choice because it is here in the open air that life on such a boat takes place, a solution that almost miraculously amplifies the walking surface on board.

A full-beam cockpit

Another unique feature of the NX 270 is access to the bow, which is not from the side decks but through ladders and an opening in the windshield to the left of the dashboard.

This solution allows you to free up a lot of deck space, you have a ” full beam” boat, which uses all the available beam, habitable and livable by four people on vacation in an absolutely pleasant way. In the bow, the large sundeck has raised backrests that become comfortable chaise-longues at a moment’s notice.

NX 270: Performance and price

The boat is offered by the Brazilian shipyard in both outboard and inboard versions, here in Italy, imported by NX Italia of Marina degli Aregai, came the one with in the engine room a Volvo Penta V6 280-horsepower gasoline engine, choice in our opinion very apt (compared to the FB one) because it takes full advantage of the potential of the aft dashboard.

In terms of performance we were pleasantly surprised, not only by the top speed: 34 knots, but especially for the pleasantness of the hull, extremely soft and maneuverable even in the slightly rough seas we encountered during our test, with that typical short Mediterranean breeze wave on which boats of this size usually suffer greatly instead.

The fast cruising speed is around 28/29 knots consuming about 47 liters per hour, while the ideal cruising speed, the one where the maximum performance is achieved, is around 24/25 knots and here consumption drops to only 34 liters per hour.

Finally, also worth noting is the price, which is definitely competitive, starting at 105,000 euros plus VAT. The importer for orders by summer offers thebow maneuvering propeller for free.
