A new boat is under construction for the Johnson Yachts shipyard, the Johnson 70. A 21 meters where the owner feels like a super yacht because the boat is fully customizable just like the larger yachts.

Get on the boat and feel like you’re on a super yacht

Super yacht customization levels are the strength of this boat. From a choice of three or four cabins to the addition of a closed skylounge or cockpit fishing options. Everything is designed in a “smart” key, i.e. to simplify the management and performance of this boat. The interior was designed by the Unlimited Design studio, while the exterior design was taken over by Bill Dixon, Dixon Yacht Design, who was responsible, among other things, for the Magellan line by Azimut Benetti and several Pearl Yachts.

When the owner is also a builder

The Johnson 70 retains the level of customization of the rest of the Johnson line, encouraging the owner’s contribution to the design of the lodgings, as well as the wheelhouse area, lounge, dining area and kitchen. Other points where the owner intervenes “directly” in the project are, for example, in the choice of an open flying bridge or closed skylounge.

In this way, starting from a common base, each Johnson 70 is unique, embroidered to fit the needs of the owner. The large side windows of the hull provide plenty of natural light and a greater feeling of openness in the boat. The living area of the Johnson and the engine room are clearly separated, but if the space for owner and guests is not lacking, the same can be said for the more mechanical part: Johnson Yachts in this hull has also given much importance to the engineering standards of the yacht. This means that the mechanical spaces are not compromised by the interior and that due attention is paid to maintenance and mechanical requirements. Weight and balance have also been studied in depth, resulting in a yacht that behaves well at sea.
