Pardo 38 per Luna Rossa

America’s Cup is the most famous regatta in the world and is now touching technological peaks never seen before. Very fast sailing boats that need equally fast support boats. How to keep up? Simple: in the case of Luna Rossa with a Pardo 38 motorized with three Mercury V8 outboards of 300 horsepower each. High-performance hull and 900 hp available to fly together with Luna Rossa, with the best of Garmin electronics on board.

One Pardo 38 and two Pardo 43 for Luna Rossa

Pardo Yachts will support the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team on its way to America’s Cup. There will be three boats available to the Italian team: a Pardo 38 and two Pardo 43 that will be used both for guests and for technical support to the AC75 regatta boat, both at the headquarters in Cagliari and in New Zealand, in Auckland.

Pardo Yachts and Luna Rossa represent two great stories of “made in Italy”. In competitions like America’s Cup, every little detail and every second lost or gained can make the difference between winning and losing.  The collaboration between the two brands comes from a sharing of ideas and mentality.

Pardo 38

The Pardo 38 will be one of the technical boats that will provide support and assistance to AC75 Luna Rossa. Why was a luxury boat for daily cruises chosen as a motorboat for technical support to a racing boat? The reason is soon said: the Pardo 38 was chosen in the version with three 300 hp Mercury outboard engines for its peculiarity to reach speeds up to 50 knots and therefore follow Luna Rossa without any particular problems.

The hull of this yacht Pardo guarantees seaworthiness and maneuverability, to glide in safety and speed, but also to approach the AC75 in a simple and safe way. The unique walk-around deck plan ensures safety on board and easy circulation in space. The deck is in fact developed on a single deck from bow to stern without steps and is entirely protected by raised walls.

All Garmin equipment onboard the Pardo 38

The electronics of the Pardo 38 are entrusted to Garmin’s technologies: the attention on the dashboard will be captured by the GPSMAP 8400 xsv multifunction chartplotter equipped with a 16″ Full HD multitouch display and integrated CHIRP 1 kW dual-channel fishfinder module. Thanks to the large screen that can be split up to six windows, it will be possible to keep under control all the necessary information at the same time: BlueChart G3 cartography with Navionics data, Fantom 18 solid-state radar images, B117 bronze through-transducer depth information, Mercury engine data, Fusion Apollo RA770 entertainment system information and much more.

Communication with the crew on other vessels will be ensured by the 315i VHF black box radio. The new EmpirBus interface for digital switching and boat monitoring will also be installed onboard, allowing easy monitoring and control of onboard systems thanks to Garmin’s advanced domotics.

Pardo 43

Not only the small house Pardo Yachts to follow Luna Rossa, but also two Pardo 43. This model has been chosen for hospitality and its strong point is certainly the style, entirely “Made in Italy”, which combines power and elegance, comfort and functionality, in addition to the qualities in navigation. The attention to materials, finishes and details, together with the great possibilities of customization, thanks to the over forty years experience of Cantiere del Pardo, represent its milestones.
