A tribute to the companies and people who have made Barche a Motore great over these 35 years allowing it to be born, grow, and become great up to this historic anniversary. In these articles the great excellences of boating tell their stories and reveal their projects, making an important contribution to the knowledge of this world, which allows us all to go to sea, in all forms and contexts.

Pardo 43, where it all began. Striking are the elegant but understated lines, derived precisely from the experience of sailboats, and, of course, the inverted bow, the signature of all the shipyard’s models.

The walkaround has become big

Style icons capable of conquering the whole world: these are the Pardo motorboats.

No. 1 like Uncle Scrooge: the Pardo 43 has made the fortune of Pardo Yachts. Cantiere del Pardo ‘s first motor boat is unveiled at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival. And like any self-respecting first time, the weight of expectations keeps the tension high. The boating industry is recovering, but the great crises of the 2008-2012 period also weighed on Cantiere del Pardo itself, which went through a period that was not easy. But in the end, the performance anxiety turns out to be completely unfounded. The Croisette catwalk turns out to be a success beyond the wildest imagination. Pardo 43 sells 30 units. In a single Salon. A figure that is simply incredible. And it was just a taste since today the Pardo 43 sailors exceed 330. Especially when we consider that, until then, the yard had only built sailboats.

The origins of the site

There was a young man, then 29 years old, who borrowed 3 million lira. Taking inflation into account, that would be about 25,000 euros today. An amount certainly within the reach of a certain Raul Gardini, who twenty years later would race for the Americas Cup with his Moro di Venezia. The year was 1972, and the young man was Giuseppe Giuliani Ricci. Thus began the story of Cantiere del Pardo…which for more than 40 years made only sailboats! But in 2012, after a series of ownership changes and corporate reorganizations, Fabio Planamente as CEO and Gigi Servidati in the beste of president arrived at the top. They think it is time to expand the offerings by entering the powerboat sector. From this point of view, the 4 decades of experience in sailboat building constituted intellectual capital still largely untapped. For the sake of the record, a timid foray into the motor market had been attempted at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, marketing the Hudson 40 and 54 models built under the Hudson&Rcci shipyard name, two popular yet underrated flybridges. But as good as they were, they were on the whole anonymous boats: and this was to be a key lesson.

The Pardo GT52, the first in the range launched in 2022.

Pardo Yachts. Watchword: stand out

In a market that was all but new to the shipyard, and already dense with offerings, it was necessary to present itself with something new and immediately recognizable. Hence, the disruptive idea: an inverted bow. Since 2016, the year Pardo Yachts was born, it has been the signature stylistic feature of all their models, starting with that very first P43 that racked up customers at the Cannes Boat Show. Exalted by the minimalism of the forms, defined by a few simple lines, it represents an aesthetic revolution sculpted on the hull of a 14-meter walkaround. A refinement that comes precisely from the sector where the Shipyard had gained all its experience, that of sailboats, traditionally masters of elegance. In addition, the hull is designed specifically for the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion, which is maneuverable and efficient, the interior volumes are much larger than those of its competitors, and the finishes are of the highest quality. These are all key factors in the success that has resulted in nearly 300 examples being sold.

The Leopard 43, a great success.

The Pardo Yachts Case

In 2023, Cantiere del Pardo celebrated 50 years in business. The success of Pardo Yachts has been such that, although it was born less than 10 years ago, its turnover quintuples that of the sailing component, constituting the crown jewel of the shipyard. A growth that represents a true case study and culminated with the entry of the Oniverse group, owned by the Veronesi family, which saw in this shipyard one of the most established and recognizable symbols of “Made in Italy” in the entire international nautical scene. Today the CEO is 38-year-old Marcello Veronesi.
