Boot Düsseldorf (Jan. 21-29) will be the occasion for the European debut of the new Pearl 72. Model widely anticipated by the shipyard stems from the hand of Bill Dixon, who handled the exterior and naval architecture, while the interior is by Kelly Hoppen CBE. Some details about the new Pearl 82 will also be unveiled at the German boat show.
Pearl 72
This new model, the Pearl 72, is all about livability on board, which is maximized both on deck and inside. Suffice it to say that there are four double cabins (two master), crew quarters and a tender garage/jet ski on board. Before seeing the interior in detail let’s take a look at the deck.
Aboard the 22-meter-long, 5.7-meter-wide Pearl 72, significant use was made of glass. The goal? Giving the boat a more modern look along the lines of the

. With rounded windows distributed throughout the boat, one gets the impression of a light and agile boat, despite its 22-meter length and flybridge. It is in this very area that the owner can choose how to stand: whether in the sun, at the stern, or under the canopy with adjustable slats for discretionary sun and shade.
The dashboard located on the fly has two seats. The dining table is served by a multifunctional wet bar, while a wide assortment of accessories, from movable loungers to a sundeck to a hot tub, can be placed aft.
Pearl 72 – Blanket
In the aft cockpit is a table with a sofa and chairs. Its location sheltered by the flybridge but at the same time open to the sea makes it particularly enjoyable. From here then you can quickly reach the beach club, with a tailgate equipped with a fold-down seat and bathing platform. The garage houses a William 345 tender with additional space for a jet ski. The site promises extreme simplicity for launching and hauling water toys. Increasing the space available in this area are the side platforms that open on either side of the garage.
An additional convivial area is created in the bow with a sofa and sundeck. The anchor mechanisms turn out to be hidden, so as to give elegance to this area.
Salon and aft cockpit communicate through a large electronically operated sliding door. The main salon presents with sofas on the port side and furniture on the starboard side. Here storage space was one of the main focuses. Toward the bow we pass by a three-stool bar that combines the open kitchen with the convivial area. The final nice touch is Pearl’s double windshield that houses the interior driver’s station and dinette area.
An optional door next to the helm provides access and egress. There are two staircases leading below deck. The forward master stateroom has a private staircase near the helm.
Pearl 72 – Interior
In the middle of the boat, the main staircase leads to the main accommodation area. Curated by Kelly Hoppen CBE uses a new style with 4 en-suite guest cabins. The forward owner’s cabin has a private entrance, while the midships owner’s cabin is full beam. This layout then allows owners to enjoy remarkable views even when moored aft in a marina.
The shipyard presents this yacht as the first to offer “Indulgence.” The design concept for Pearl 72 was to create a modern and elegant interior with soft lines and overlapping textures, Kelly Hoppen’s signature style.
The intent of the design of this yacht was to capture the urban life of New York City on the water, enhancing and working with the incredible mechanical features that were made. On board is an array of materials such as wood veneers, onyx marbles, and contrasting metal details.
Pearl 72 – Motorization
To power this Pearl 72 you can choose between standard 1400HP MAN V12s or 1600HP MTUs. The Pearl 72’s hull architecture promises a cruising speed of 25 knots for a range of about 250 nautical miles and a maximum speed of 32 knots. Like all Pearl Yachts, the Pearl 72 comes with a five-year warranty.
