Sasga Yachts’ new flagship, the Menorquin 68 FB, designed by Barracuda Yacht Design, has finally been launched. Sasga and Barracuda have been collaborating since 2010, and since then the size of the yachts has been getting bigger and bigger starting with the 34 up to the 68 fly bridge. There is a clear reference to the classic llaรผts, typical of the Balearic Islands and known for their great seaworthiness and aptitude for fishing. The Menorquin cruises economically at 10 to 12 knots, quickly reaching 16 to 24 knots due to the semi-displacement design that provides comfort and performance while sailing. The new unit can be equipped with a fly bridge, which elevates the wheelhouse, galley and ample outdoor space. While the inspiration for the exterior comes from the boats of the past and is more “old-fashioned,” the interior is the exact opposite. Space has been maximized and is dominated by tall, wide windows for all-around visibility and lots of natural light coming in.
The result is a relaxed environment and a tranquil atmosphere that pervades the living spaces. The owner can choose the furniture in a free and custom way, with an additional closet, a custom refrigerator, and more. The galley is conveniently located near the main dining table area and aft deck for easy service and cleaning. The kitchen is fully equipped, U-shaped and plenty of space in the various shelves. The six-person option (plus two crew berths) includes a full-beam, mid-ship master stateroom with double en-suite bathrooms and a large interconnecting shower. In addition, a double berth in the forward section is added to the starboard twin berth cabin and VIP cabin. Noise and vibration have been minimized and Barracuda Yacht Design-combined with Sasga Yachts has taken care of all the details transforming this traditional design into an extremely comfortable, modern and efficient option with personality, charm and great character. www.sasgayachts.com
