The Prestige M7, the French brand’s new 17-meter-long by 7.56-meter-wide motor catamaran capable of accommodating up to eight people plus crew, arrives. Here’s a preview of how it’s designed.

Prestige M7

Groupe Beneteau seems to have put the turbocharger on multihulls, and if a giant like the transalpine giant is focusing so intensely on one type of boat, it means that demand is strong. From the Four Winns TH 36 to the Lagoon Eighty 3, each brand in the group has its own specific vocation. With the Prestige motor catamarans, the goal is to combine a “monohull” exterior line, thus an attractive design, with the comfort of sailing and living on board cat.

The profile, in fact, is very slender, with a large window that crosses the boat from bow to stern and “camouflages” the large forward volume that hides the cabins. A great effort has been made, then, to give as much lightness as possible, including aesthetically, to the central superstructure. Definitely striking is the aft cockpit that is full-beam and reminiscent of the beach area of a superyacht with a large central platform that rises and falls.

The central hall

The central salon appears more contained, probably in order to enhance outdoor living. It will be to be seen by seeing the boat in person how the spaces on board are actually distributed.

Interior and cabins

On board it can accommodate up to eight guests spread over four cabins. The great thing, though, is that these are not the usual four cabins sacrificed (so to speak, we are on a 17-meter anyway) on the two hulls, but the owner’s cabin is full beam forward and is surprisingly large. Of course, the deck, indeed the below deck, is short. To get as much volume as the owner’s (photo below), the fourth cabin is a double that is definitely smaller than the others.

Added to this is a crew double with extra possibility of having three sailors on board.
