The new generation of boats (particularly flybridge boats) now makes volume and livability on board the central point. The impetus given by catamarans to this market segment meant that on-board habitability rose to the top of the priority scale.
Many brands have equipped themselves for this, such as Prestige Yachts with the X range that bears the signature of Garroni Design, among others. Further confirmation of this contamination between monohulls and multihulls comes from the French brand itself with the new Prestige X60.
Prestige X60
After the
Prestige X70,
flagship of Prestige’s new X range, debuts its younger sister, 18.7 meters long by 4.84 maximum beam. Starting from the stern we find the platform that features a large sundeck, a shower, indirect lighting, and an independent sound system. The sundeck is retractable like a hatch that opens and closes. Behind this section is the sailor’s cabin.
Climbing the two side stairs leads to a cockpit that is the first XL convivial area we find on board. This is because the living room, to which it is connected by a sliding glass door, is virtually full-beam with an asymmetrical pattern. To the left we have a walkway that directly connects the aft cockpit to the bow, where there is seating and sofas that create a place to have privacy even if there are other guests on board.
On the right, however, to access the front area, one goes through the interior then exits through a door at the side of the dashboard. This made it possible to maintain large volumes both in the inner salon and in the cockpit, with minimal disadvantage in terms of accessibility and bow-to-stern movement. The frybridge is divided into three zones: command bridge with a convivial area behind it and a relaxation area.
Prestige X60 – Below Deck
Going below deck, the layout provides up to 3 three cabins. While the master cabin has private access from the main deck, the other two cabins share a single passageway and are the forward VIP and guest cabin. The interconnected spaces are designed to promote easy circulation.
Prestige X60 – Propulsion
Powered by two Cummins 600 HP engines, (shaftline propulsion or Zeus Pod) the new Prestige X60 has a cruising speed of 20/21 knots. For ease of steering and ever-increasing comfort while sailing, the X60 is equipped with Ship Control and an optional Seakeeper gyro-stabilizer.
