Among the“Famous Five,” Sunseeker‘s five new 2021-2022 novelties, this 27-meter yacht is the largest. And it is also one of the most anticipated in the extra-luxury yacht market. It is called the Sunseeker Ocean 90, and today we preview why it is by far one of the most interesting cruisers on the market.
Sunseeker Ocean 90
The Sunseeker family feeling on this 90-footer that at the same time projects everything that characterizes the British shipyard into the future. The goal, it is no longer a mystery, is to become a recreational superpower, and the key to success is to be cross-market winners. With this new 27-meter yacht, Sunseeker straddles the luxury and mega-yacht markets, offering a vessel that can satisfy those who enjoy long cruises, but on board don’t want to give up any comfort at all.
The line is massive, and the reason is quickly stated. The yard claims that this 27-meter has up to 20 percent more overall volume and nearly 30 percent more deck space than a similarly sized yacht. How is this possible? Thanks to the beam (up to 7.6 meters) and vertical bow that brings the interior volume forward. The goal is to get to offer more and more spaces that can compete with those of catamarans, for example.
Sunseeker Ocean 90 – Deck and Main Deck
Starting from the stern we immediately find a Beach Club of more than 6 meters by four meters. This area proves ideal for a family and friends who want to hang out by the water with a built-in barbecue available as well. Bezenzoni’s “Ladder Gangway” catwalk allows guests to effortlessly move the water toys around, and afterwards use the oversized “rain shower” before relaxing on the new X-TEND loungers. The cockpit faces the beach club, creating a maximum continguity between these two environments.
The foredeck represents another vast social space with 360º seating and central sundecks with electrically adjustable backs, protected by a canopy or umbrellas. For cinephiles, it can turn into an area where outdoors with a laser projector and 140-inch screen you can watch movies or you can have an aperitif on teak tables.
The salon measures 8.8 meters long by 5.6m wide, providing space for modular seating and chaise lounges on the port side, all made possible by clever concealment of multiple service elements such as a/c refrigeration units. Complementing this area is a 65-inch QLED TV with customizable display a new mix of Sunseeker interior finishes, including lacquered deckhead interior panels and LED perimeter lighting.
The windows are full-height to get as much natural light as possible on board. A dedicated dining area for eight people can be placed to port or starboard depending on preference. The forward galley, with all the comforts of home with dividing screens and multiple layout options, offers abundant space and direct access to the side deck for the crew, not to mention the option to stow up to thirty-four bottles of wine and Miele appliances.
Sunseeker Ocean 90 – Below Deck
The style also continues below deck. A striking wooden wall leads owners into the super-bright full-beam master stateroom through 2.5-meter windows. The furniture follows elegant lines of the 90 Ocean, with wide curved bulkheads, textured panels, curved sofa, vanity desk, and an XXL slatted bed with storage space underneath.
A decorative full-width bulkhead mirror houses the television, also demonstrating an advanced technological component aboard the Sunseeker 90 Ocean. A feature of the cabin is the wardrobe behind full-height mirrors.
The VIP stateroom forward with dedicated access and two twin staterooms aft that can convert to doubles provide a yacht that can comfortably accommodate eight guests in the same modern, cozy comfort offered to the master.
Eight to ten people, plus four crew members, can then be accommodated for sleeping on board.
