British shipyard Sunseeker unveils its latest project, Project 8X to be launched in the fall of 2020. This boat will be the first of a new generation of yachts with an all-new design idea that aims to revolutionize high-performance luxury yacht design.

Superyacht sensations

Geared toward a way of “being” that for now is peculiar only to super yachts, this boat will have large volumes, an interior open plan and a “beach club” four times larger than a normal platform. The recessed transom and Beach Club bathing platform are part of a highly equipped relaxation area with ample space for water toys such as a Williams 460 SportJet and JetSki, equipped with an integrated remote-controlled tender crane inside the transom coaming, SeaBob deck lockers, optional 3.2 m x 2.5 m hydraulic bathing platform, a “self-leveling” step walkway, built-in drawer barbecue, dedicated refrigeration and shower. Everything to experience the sea like on a super yacht.

The boat on deck: the space outside

Outdoor space is one of the highlights of this boat, which is designed for leisure, full of seating, places to sunbathe and dine. The foredeck can also incorporate a 140-inch movie screen, laser projector, and surround sound system. unprecedented in this size range. The flybridge is dedicated to boat life with a bar with stools, barbecue, refrigerators with helmsman’s drawer, and optional hot tub.

The carbon fiber hardtop with full-width retractable canopy provides shade for exceptionally generous seating and a dining area that can be configured or left open depending on the owner’s exact needs. Its unique main deck, salon, and cabins are innovative in design, and the selection of materials aims to win over even the most discerning owners. The interior finish combines traditional elegance with contemporary updates. The layering of structural elements and the mix of furnishings and fabrics seems timeless with a modern twist that exudes simplicity and sophistication.

The living room is spacious lounge and is naturally lighted by large windows. A dedicated dining area for eight can be located to port or starboard, while a contemporary apartment-style galley forward, with partitions if necessary, provides ample space and direct access to the side deck for the crew. The full-beam master stateroom offers panoramic views through its 8-foot windows. The furnishings were carefully designed with the yacht’s sleek lines in mind, with wide curved bulkheads, wood paneling, a curved sofa, a service desk, and a slatted king-size bed that offers additional storage below. A decorative full-width mirror houses the television, another technological addition to this yacht.

The boat below deck

The salon is large and naturally illuminated by large windows. A dedicated dining area for eight people can be positioned to the left or to the right, while a forward kitchen in contemporary apartment style, with partition walls if necessary, offers ample space and direct access to the side deck for the crew. The full-beam master cabin offers panoramic views through its 2.5-meter windows. The furnishings have been carefully designed with the yacht’s elegant lines in mind, with large curved bulkheads, wooden panels, curved sofa, service desk and a king-size slatted bed offering additional storage underneath. A full width decorative mirror houses the television, another technological addition to this yacht.
