The program: blue economy at the center
The new edition of the Puglia Boat Show will host workshops, round tables, meetings, seminars, conferences and laboratories that will aim to foster debates and insights on the theme of the blue economy, blue careers and the central role of the maritime sector for the country system. There will be many appointments dedicated to startups, training of new talents and the development of the professions of the sea, almost all of them hosted within the “Training Village,” an area with 20 pre-equipped stands dedicated to the project partners. Particular attention will thus be paid to job opportunities in the boating industry, and the Puglia Boat Show will be a key hub for allowing job supply and demand to meet. SNIM will foster a positive exchange of meetings between young job seekers and participating companies motivated to hire professionals to join their company.
To emphasize the strong link between SNIM and the sport, and the uniqueness of the Apulia Sea for sport fishing competitions, the FIPSAS Open Trophy – Big game Drifting will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, valid for qualification for the overall national championship and for access to the Italian national team. About 40 crews from all over Italy are expected to participate. The sports competition will be held under the banner of full environmental sustainability, adhering to the “TONTAG” project, which involves tagging tuna to be carried out during sports competitions and especially in recreational fishing. The bluefin tuna, caught during the competition, will thus be tagged and released, and will enable international research bodies to receive information on the survival of the species, which has been critically endangered for years.
Among the main new features of this edition, more and more space will be devoted to promoting toward the ecological transition of boat engines to preserve the balance of the marine ecosystem. Show space for the “E-Vision” segment, dedicated to the boating of the future, will expand and allow for the display of 100% electric watercraft and marine engines, Hybrid Systems – designed for diesel-electric hybrid navigation – and Fuel Cells, hydrogen and methanol fuel cells. The Puglia Boat Show thus aims to be more and more a space for business networking, proposing to systematize investments and give right showcase to the different investments in the nautical sector of Puglia.
