Pyxis Yachts is preparing to enter the world of motorboats with the P-30, a 30-foot walk-around. The design of the new P-30 is modern, with a fully utilised deck and a cabin below deck to stay at sea even during the night.
Pyxis Yachts P-30, born from experience
Pyxis Yachts SA, a shipyard with headquarters in Switzerland, was born from a group of partners all owners of boats. The boat, the P-30 of 9.80 meters, is the result of all their experiences and their vision of the current market. In today’s market, a boat has to be versatile, maneuverable and carefully designed to be successful.
If it is recognizable and has outboards, all the better. The P-30 is a bit reminiscent of the design of American center consoles for fishing with the bow high on the water. The deck, however, is designed for cruising: sundeck at the bow, in front of the windscreen and a small central table in the cockpit with two beaches aft around the outboard pair: the power of the engines start from 400 hp to 600 hp.
The line is original and was created by Alessandro Chessa of Akes Design studio. For the interiors, the brand relied on the experience of an interior guru like Carlo Galeazzi and his team. Another point to which the yard has given importance are the materials, as Guido Molese, co-founder of the yard, says.
“Apart from the technical materials dictated by the designer – explains Guido Molese – we have worked a lot on the components because each of us ( the founders – Editor’s note) has his own personal boat that he has been using for dozens and dozens of years. So we have a lot of experience on what each component of the boat means. We wanted to create in the best possible way a product that conforms to the highest standards of craftsmanship”.
P 30 walk around
The P-30wa by Pyxis Yachts was born as a modern weekend cruiser with a sports line. It wants to be a versatile and multipurpose boat. From cruising to fishing for example. The deep V hull is equipped with four skids up to a transom inclined at 23°. Born from a 3D modeling and 5-axis milling machine for the realization of the prototype with CAM technology. Around the boat, a protective rubber strake.
With a displacement of 2.4 tonnes, particular attention was paid to stability when the P-30 was stationary. It is 9.80 meters long overall and three meters at the beam and has interesting exploited internal volumes for maximum usability.
Cockpit and console
In the cockpit an ‘L’ shaped sofa with a second opposite to accommodate up to eight passengers. A small kitchen is located behind the helmsman’s seat, complete with hob, sink, and fridge.
The T-top above the cockpit offers sun and wind protection at the helm and houses lights, solar panels, antennas, up to eight rod holders and other custom equipment. The wheelhouse console houses a 12-inch GPS plotter, depth sounder, compass, VHF radio, joystick.
Below deck
The sliding tambour door disappears below the wheelhouse and gives access below deck. A modern boat wants lots of space, even on small boats. This is where Carlo Galeazzi comes into play, who with his team played on “colors and shape” to create the best possible interior.
The foredeck skylight provides ventilation for the owner’s cabin. The layout includes toilet, independent and full height. A truly unique appearance for a boat of this size. There is also a wardrobe area, equipped with a comfortable seat for changing. In addition, a second ‘French’ style double bed can be installed in the middle of the boat for two more guests.
Outboard engines
The Pyxis P-30 WA has found the perfect combination of performance and comfort with BRP’s Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboard systems that in the most powerful configuration with two 300hp engines each reaches top speeds of 50 knots. In the quieter version, from 2x200hp, it reaches 40 knots. The Evinrude E-TEC G2 series V6 outboards have power trim & control; tilt, servo-assisted steering, iDOCK, engine management, and monitoring, all with significantly low fuel consumption. The 500-litre fuel tank ensures a good cruising range.
Optional: cruising or fishing
In standard configuration, the deck of the P-30WA is covered with FlexiTeek synthetic teak, a 100-litre live tank for fishing enthusiasts. Owners can also customize their boat with optional extras such as a T-top, awning, or icebox. For an even more eye-catching style, the hull can be lined with Dswrap, according to a color palette specially approved by our design team.
