Integration is the watchword. So two boating giants such as the Quick, a leading manufacturer of accessories, and Volvo Penta, a manufacturer of marine engines, have teamed up to integrate Quick’s proportional maneuvering propellers, now seamlessly integrated with Volvo Penta’s Assisted Docking system.

How does it work?

Quick proportional maneuvering prop ellers allow us to manage the intensity of the thrust given by the propeller. It is not a simple “on-off,” but when we need a slight correction we can push “gently,” while if there is a need to hurry, we can give “more throttle,” pass us the term.

Volvo Penta’s Assisted Docking system, assists the skipper in maneuvering by compensating for environmental variables such as wind and current in real time. Accuracy is based on GPS data and allows an exact course and position to be maintained, allowing straight-line movements, rotations on a fixed axis, and up adjustments via joystick. By releasing the control, the system maintains position, simplifying preparation for the next phase of mooring.

Putting these elements together results in an extremely practical and intuitive mooring system. This functionality integrates seamlessly with Quick Nautical Equipment’s electric proportional maneuvering propellers, recognized for their reliability and high performance. Integration is possible through the Proportional Control System (PCS), extending compatibility to the Aquamatic DPI and Volvo Penta IPS propulsion ranges.

Quick’s maneuvering propellers represent one of the flagship accessories of the “made in Italy” production of this group, which over the years has established itself as one of the most important in the world. These propellers, designed and manufactured in our peninsula, are a flagship of Quick.
