Realm 45

Rand Boats, a Danish shipyard famous for its luxury boats and tenders, presents the world premiere of the new flagship in its range: Realm 45, a 14-meter yacht that focuses on unmistakable style.

Realm 45

Looking at this boat, one cannot help but be immediately struck by the extreme geometries of the design. On a walkaround hull, the totally angular superstructure is grafted, consisting of orthogonal planes made entirely of glass. From this point of view, it seems to echo the extreme concept of the Wallywhy, with some elements of originality, such as the windshield with double inclination, positive and negative. In the bow, large sundeck on the deckhouse, a typical walkaround element, while in the cockpit the C-shaped sofa looks out over the sea beyond the stern.

A heart of glass

The wheelhouse is the central element around which the whole project revolves, not just the design. Rand Boats defines this Realm 45 as an all-weather yacht. This modularity is ensured by the full opening of the sliding side windows, so that when opened, they can provide the open and ventilated environment typical of an open with hard top. In adverse conditions or colder climates, however, it becomes a true pilot house. To emphasize its centrality, the folding bulwarks, instead of the classic aft location, are located right at these openings to further project this space out to sea.

Under the deckhouse, you can choose between a generous guest cabin or a large storage compartment for equipment, depending on whether you want to use it more as a long-stay or short-haul daycruiser.

Motorizations: there is something for everyone

Rand Boats values environmental sustainability, so it is no surprise that Realm 45 is also offered in an all-electric version, with a pair of 300 kW motors and an impressive 440 kW lithium battery pack! But for the more traditionalists, there is no shortage of endothermic options, indeed. Realm 45 is available in both diesel (inboard-outboard with stern foot) and gasoline, inboard or outboard, for a decidedly more sporty approach.

The latter version, when animated by a 600-hp Mercury torque, is the most powerful and, of course, fastest motorization, capable of reaching 47 knots. Very interesting are the range figures, both at cruising speed, given for 25 knots, and at a low speed of 6 knots for long transfers. In this case, the diesel obviously manages to cover an impressive 1,500 nautical miles, but the electric also defends itself by offering 250. The issue changes dramatically at 25 knots, where the electric will only power this 14-meter yacht for 35 miles, while the various gasoline engines come in at around 300. Once again, diesel wins this comparison handily with 500 miles.
